I think the freepers are using it to try and debunk the film because my misguided conservative cousin sent it to me today (of course he sent it to me WITHOUT seeing the film himself).

Funny thing is Moore's people have responded to the charges but this asswipe dismisses them:

"Moore's "War Room" has published a lengthy point-by-point defense of the movie. Some of the points relate to issues I've raised; others do not. For each item below, I'll provide a link to Moore's response, when there is one. On two issues (Afghanistan's President Karzai; John Ashcroft's pre-9/11 attitude towards terrorism) Moore's response makes some valid points; not necessarily that Fahrenheit is right on these facts, but at least the facts are disputable. On one issue (the unemployment rate in Flint), Moore is clearly right. On the rest of the items I've identified, Moore's responses are extremely unconvincing, mainly because they so often evade the evidence."

We should get a page up debunking every charge ourselves with the facts if we can research and compile them here.

2. It would blow this persons whole world view to accept that

Therefore this person refuses to. Blind faith.

To too many of them, the Republican faith is *always* right. If something is amiss, they refuse to believe their own eyes.

5. I don't think it matters whether the movie is truthful or not
A lot of people have their minds made up - that Moore's movie is fiction. Of course they haven't seen it, but they are sure.

My brother said this a couple of days ago. He's convinced it's fictional. I told him about the NY Times article that said Moore had hired the former fact-checking team from the New Yorker magazine to vet all the film content. He said he didn't believe that either.

It's really sad but having a list of backed-up facts is not something that will convince people like my brother.

I asked him why he was so sure and he said that a local (SFO area) radio show host, whose name he could not recall but he said he was a moderate, and whose judgment he trusted, had pointed out numerous errors in the film.

Oh well....

I know that this residency has been fiction... and I have seen it.
