Bush's $3,100 mountain bike!
Forget for the moment that no matter how expensive the damn thing is, he can't stay on it ...

About half-way down in the article you'll find this nugget:

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/bush/articles/2004/07/26/ap_exclusive_bush_the_mountain_biker_rides_hard_shrugs_off_crash/

His bike is one of the best: a Trek Fuel 98 made of space-age carbon fiber with rear suspension that soaks up big bumps.

List price: about $3,100. He had it specially fitted by a Washington bicycle retailer.

I don't know if anyone looked at the Kerry-opoly propoganda on the * website (which, it seems, has been taken down), but I recall one of the things they attacked Kerry on was his high-end road bike.

Something about beams and motes comes to mind.

No goddam shame, none at all.

6. I think Kerry's bike is about twice that cost.....
....so to emphasize this one would once again show Kerry twice as rich....let's not be as petty.

8. bwahaha
"Over an 18-mile ride that lasted an hour and 20 minutes, he burns about 1,200 calories and his heart rate reaches 168 beats per minute. That's nearly four times his resting rate and in the same range as Lance Armstrong's when the six-time Tour de France winner is pedaling hard."

Now Bush is like armstrong. Nex thing you will hear - "He is in great shape and no doubt he can win Tour De France".

14. The last sentence
mentions Kerry's bike costs over $8000. Nice puff piece on our Armstrong-esque super hero like president. I wonder if the reporter works for his campaign. If not, maybe he should.
