I received my Outfoxed DVD yesterday and watched it as a prelude to the C-Span coverage of the DNC. With each flip back to FOX, CNN, MSNBC, and non-coverage by major networks, it became clearer to me that cable news networks, as well as major broadcast networks, have become so self-indulgent, corporate, and commercialized that they believe the "story" is themselves - THEY are the news makers - the news. With the words of Jimmy Carter, Bill Richardson, Tammy Baldwin, Robert Menendez, and Stephanie Tubbs-Jones echoing in the background, laying out the Democratic Agenda and providing a clear message for what "progressives" and "liberals" stand for, FOX, MSNBC, and CNN focused on themselves - their pow-wow booths with pontificating pundits - with total disregard for the messages behind them. A new low in convention coverage - the "journalist" Sean Hannity, from the floor of the convention, in the middle of Jimmy Carter's speech, cuts to and repeats the "shove-it" video of Teresa Kerry - now that's coverage!
Last night I created a PASS-IT-AROUND list for my new Outfoxed DVD. My DVD in a zip locked freezer bag with five names taped to the outside. The note has my name and address, brief comment of content, and says to please view this DVD, cross off your name and send it on tho the next person on the list - last person drop it off in my mailbox. I started this morning with Middletons next door, and continued my list of neighbors - I do not know most of their political views, but believe they will at least pass it on if they do not view it.
THIS DVD IS TOO IMPORTANT FOR ONE VIEWING AND THEN DUST COLLECTING NEXT TO "TOMMY BOY"
Please order a DVD and share it. I got mine from Buzzflash - $9.99 + $5.01 donation = $15 total - well worth the money.
