About terrorists and Assault Weapons |
|
Whether you agree or disagree with Bill Clinton's point about assault weapons, he does raise an excellent point about safety and even people's lives. I don't think we need assault weapons, if there are people out there who are more heavily armed than the police, only crime and death can result. However, terrorists need weapons and removing a chance where they can gain weaponry is always a good strike in the war against terrorists. There are more than terrorists to worry about though, and that are our traditional criminals. They will also jump at the chance to gain assault weapons. Clinton also made a good point when he said Bush would be cutting funds to the police. It almost seems as though Bush is staging a show for the American people, portraying as though he is fighting the terrorists, but behind the scenes, he is their greatest ally. Kerry will not play with people's lives, it's just another great reason to vote for him this comimg election.

This is a win-win issue for Democrats. A solid majority of voters across the board do not want assault weapons on the market.
