i myself, being a loudmouth asshole would have played it differently and angier. but it's a good thing i am not in the DNC. i am a radical, and i am very pissed at bushco.

but, overall, i must confess i enjoyed the way the dems are playing it. it will make the repubs look all the worse when they have nothing to offer but throwing shit like caged apes do.

i'm not saying there's no room for righteous indignation, we've earned it for sure. either way, i'll vote for kerry/edwards happily.

2. It's not only a good approach for the fence sitters
It's making me feel a=one hell of a lot better about Kerry!

I'm jazzed and feel very good about voting FOR Kerry rather than simply voting AGAINST *!

23. Not quite there yet
I'll be voting Kerry but it's still a vote against Bush...I'm looking forward to Kerry's speech and hope to feel as you do afterwards.

3. This doesn't apply directly to you, because I know you better
But I know a lot of people here might actually be surprised that our leadership really DOES know what it's doing! You can't always bring the hammer, especially not in a general election.

4. I was shocked also

I was flipping channels during a commercial on History Channel when I saw Pres. Carter on C-Span, and I actually stopped to watch and listen. He did a great job. Then I saw the Big Dog himself, and he gets the way high sign! :yourock:

They did an excellent job at gauging the electorate's distain for negative and mudslinging campaigning--and delivered on Monday.

Bush* and Co. should be very, very afraid. :scared:

P.S. if not for the animation, I would have thought that this can't be Mopaul. Don't scare us like that!

5. While the repugs attack Teresa, the Dems attack GWB's policies and
performance.

There was plenty of red meat served -- those speeches were SCATHING -- and they presented real policy alternatives.

But they didn't attack personally. . .let's leave that to the repugs.

6. If you didn't get righteous indignation,
you weren't listening to the speeches. It was there, clear as day.

Yes, no one stood up on stage and mooned the camera, saying "Kiss my bright red rump, mr. president".. But the criticism of Bush was direct, and pointed, and valid, and sustained throughout several speeches, Carter's, particularly.

7. I was actually surprised
the war was criticized to the extent that it was.
The audience responded with obvious enthusiasm whenever this happened.

8. Did you guys really think that was a softer stance?
Not being a smart ass but I thought Carter in particular ripped bush a new one!

I was shocked by Carter's frank statements...don't get me wrong,
I was in total agreement but I was surprised that he made them.

To hear the media yesterday, I thought the convention was going to be a turn the other cheek deal and I didn't take those speeches that way at all last night.

I felt they called the repukes for what they are (totalitarian robbers and assholes)

9. i liked the overall balance
they don't want me up there screaming, as i would have, but carter did get in the best digs against bushco. and without mentioning his name. i found it clever that they didnt' mention his name.

11. Agreed... and I was all ready to whine relentlessly about it.
It seemed to throw the pundits into confusion, as they had been babbling for hours about there being absolutely no criticism of Bush, that criticizing him would be a "death wish."

15. He ripped him a new one lol
Carter looked truly alarmed and I think his demeanor had as much impact as what he said.

I hear you about wanting to yell and scream!
(That's also more my personality regarding herr bush and company)

22. I loved the way Carter brought up the bit about
bush wanting to be a war pres(sic) one day and a peace pres(the next day) and it not being a good idea to go by the polls. And not mentioning his * once!

10. Clinton said that Kerry should run like Iraq is stable, Osama is dead...
... and the economy is under a full recovery. I think that's what he said. It's given me a lot to think about - Bill Clinton knows how to run a winning campaign.

13. I heard Clinton say that too...if that was the case...we should be outta
there....Bill does know how to run a campaign...so I am pondering how Kerry could do what he said on this issue.

16. I think I saw a lot of that acted out last night.
Sure, you had people like Carter who did a great job of humbly telling it like it is, but the convention last night was mostly about what's right with the nation instead of what's wrong with it. I liked it, except for a few gripes I have with the entertainment.
