* falls off his bike....... again
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 10:12 AM by sjr5740
What is with this man that he can't even ride a bicycle???

I heard it on NPR morning edition in one of their short 'blurb' sections, but I am not sure when since I had the radio on in the background as I was getting ready for work.

http://www.npr.org/rundowns/rundown.php?prgDate=27-Jul-2004&prgId=3

Maybe someone else can dig up the story since it appears to be buried beneath NASA and shove it.

One has to ask what is with this guy? Is he such a failure that he can't do anything without driving it into the ground (Abusto, Harken, the US economy, IRAQ, OBL, his face)? Oh wait never mind.....

on edit

4. President Jerry Ford...
... couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time, it used to be said.

It's obvious that Boy George can't ride a bike and breathe at the same time.

5. Jerry Ford was portrayed unfairly...
...he was a very good football player at U of Michigan in the thirties. He was a real athlete, not a cheerleader.

Bush Takes Another Tumble on Mountain Bike
Mon Jul 26, 2004 09:55 PM ET

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush, for the second time in two months, took a tumble on his mountain bike while riding on his Texas ranch, a White House spokeswoman said on Monday.
"During an 18-mile ride, as bikers often do, the president took a minor spill and scraped his knee," spokeswoman Claire Buchan said. She said the president did not require medical attention after the spill.

Bush had a similar mountain bike mishap at his ranch in late May, when he toppled over while riding downhill on soil loosened by rainfall, and suffered minor cuts and abrasions.

Last year, he toppled off a high-tech Segway scooter at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine

The president is spending this week at his ranch, while Democrats hold their convention in Boston to give Sen. John Kerry their presidential nomination to oppose Bush.

"minor spill" my ass! ...i heard the reporter who was with him state that "the president went flying head first over the handle bars and the bike landed on top of him"

8. An 18-mile ride???
"During an 18-mile ride, as bikers often do...

No wonder he fell off...everyone knows it's impossible to concentrate while chanting "I think I can. I think I can." for that long of a distance.

10. Notice how they always try to
portray the shrub as a macho man. "he was in the 16th mile of a 17 mile", "he was on an 18 mile, blah, blah,)and then make excuses " he fell, as bikers often do" or "gravel was loosened by recent rains". Remember, when reporters checked after his last tumble, it hadn't rained in 10 days.

11. notice how he shifted the blame this time, too

"I was cautious of my fellow bikemen, I didn't want to cut anybody off and drive them into the canyon," Bush says with a smile. "So I slowed down and because I slowed down, I lost inertia and tumbled."

a hero too. The spin: "He SAVED one of his fellow bikers from tumbling down the side of a mountain! Jest up and threw himself over the handlebars in the nick of time and stopped the biker from hurtling into the jagged ravine and took the full brunt of the impact with his manly 34" chest!" Is it in the Repub history books yet?

my edit: this will be on the page after "Reagan bankrupted the Soviets and singlehandedly saved the world from Communism".

14. Not only that--he was shifting the blame to IMAGINARY others!
The alleged leader of the "Free World" was playing let's pretend:

"He jokes that he was leading the "peleton," the rolling swarm of bicyclists in races like the Tour de France - a race he watched regularly this month before Armstrong's victory Sunday."

9. He better give Lance Armstrong another call
With that sixth Tour de France under his belt, maybe Lance would be available for some private tutoring?

Amazingly, I read this in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin's convention article. This is the paper of what's left of the rockbound repuke sugar 'n' pineapple oligarchy, yet there it is, albeit all the way at the bottom:

Bush, meanwhile, stayed out of the public eye at his Texas ranch, where he went mountain bike riding. At one point he fell on a steep descent and wound up with a cut knee.

Awwwwwwwww, Georgie got a widdle boo-boo!
