Why we DON'T "hate" him..
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 10:44 AM by SoCalDem
Lots of republican talking points contain the word "hate"..Most Democratic "talking points" do NOT contain that word, or anything even close..

Don't get me wrong.... We are NOT "happy" with him, but most of us don't "hate" him. Hate takes up too much room in your heart. Hate makes us bitter. Hate is counterproductive.

Hate is a republican trait...you can see it in their eyes. It's in every word they say..in every action.. Let THEM own the hate.. It's theirs.

Probably, most of us feel pity and disgust toward mr.bush. We pity him, because he has failed so miserably, and it has got to bother him in his "soul".

He disgusts us because he had the best education that an American could ask for, and apparently learned NOTHING.

We don't hate him because he is a Christian.. He is not a "real" Christian anyway. No one could be a Christian and , at the same time, harm so many people. His policies are anything BUT Christian. Faux faith is obvious to all who will really look at him. He is "on the record" as having said some of the most disgusting comments, yet the media amplifies "shove it", when spoken by Teresa Heinz-Kerry.

The policies he has advocated are hateful.

It is hateful to ask middle class and poor people to work ever-harder, and be less secure.

It is hateful to expect senior citizens to "go it alone" and hope that their safety net will not be yanked away.

It is hateful to ask teachers to do more and more, with less and less.

It is hateful to bribe people with a $300 check, so that the super-rich get their "tax relief" of many times that.

It is hateful to pillage and plunder the last few unspoiled parts of America, so the rich oil men can get richer.

It is hateful to bomb foreign people who have done us no harm, and then to be so downright happy about it.

It is hateful to occupy that country, and NOT put THEIR able bodied people on the payroll to re-build their own country. To make them stand by, hungry, bewildered, injured, and unemployed..while bush's crony capitalists are paid HUGE sums from OUR tax money ...that is hateful...and it fuels the anger and entrance of terrorists who are now killing our soldiers.

It is hateful to send our military to war based on lies, but it's even MORE hateful to ask them to do it without the necessary protective gear or vehicles.

It is as hateful to downplay the loss/deaths of those soldiers, as it is to claim that the deaths of civilians are so "insignificant", that we do not even bother to count them.

It is hateful to ask people with degenerative diseases to sit in the corner and wait to die, because pandering to a handful of fetus worshipers is more important than their lives.

It is hateful to ruin an economy to the point that young people are willing to risk their lives because they cannot find well paid jobs. When joining the military in wartime is the best job one can find, things are pretty rotten in the work community..

It is hateful to encourage divisiveness, while TALKING about inclusion. Pitting groups of people against each other, for the sole purpose of mining prejudices and fear for votes, is despicable.

It is hateful to try to undermine the judicial system, by polluting it with judges who are hellbent on returning to the pre-civil rights era..

It is hateful to appeal to people's basest instincts with race-baiting, homophobic language and legislation, and class warfare. When a party (person) has to do this in order to "win" support, it only shows their inherent weakness.

It is hateful to strip funding from colleges, so that when students graduate (after working full time AND going to college) with tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt, they can only find low paid jobs.

It is hateful to encourage legislation that "changes' the rules for pensions and retirement plans, just as people are ready to retire..

It is hateful to withhold medical care, or to restructure it, so that veterans who need medical care, are denied it.

It is hateful to encourage the CEOs and "business class" to outsource blue collar jobs, and create massive unemployment of people.

It is hateful to be so uninterested in the job that was so bitterly sought after. mr.bush claimed to be a "uniter, not a divider", but everything that he has shown us so far, only indicates that he is just a petty little man with no curiosity...a man who is easily swayed by powerful people around him. He has shown us that he is stubborn..not resolute. He is short-tempered and vindictive. He is a simple man, in all the worst connotations of the term.

We are tired of the "drama", and would like to have our country back . We want the respect of the world back. We want to rebuild the bridges that he has spent the last 3 1/2 years burning. We need a break...The planet needs a break..

We don't "hate" him.. we just want him to go away.

2. I for one despise him.
I think he is an evil man who surrounds himself with other evil men, pushes an evil agenda and perpetrates evil deeds upon decent people.

3. I can't say that I hate anyone; it takes too much energy and...
...accomplishes nothing. Now there are plenty of people that I think should not hold public office and I do hope to further their careers in the private sector. :)

6. Personally, I think it would be a good idea if this country
would insist on having candidates for the presidency have an IQ test and a mental test; people like Bush (IQ) and Pat Robertson (mental) wouldn't be able to run.

5. Sorry...
...but I do indeed despise the man and not just his policies. And Cheney and Ashcroft as well. Hate will motivate a person to do things that I consider irrational, therefore I do not consider myself a "hater." But within the bounds of acceptable discourse I intend to work hard this fall to see that John Kerry is elected in November so that these clowns will be sent packing.

9. Letter to Boston Globe, re: Hate
Here's the letter I wrote to the editor of the Boston Globe, in response to a column by a world class hypocrite, columnist Jeff Jacoby. It's in today's Globe.
Jerry Vovcsko

Jacoby should advise GOP on hate

July 27, 2004

SO JEFF JACOBY presumes to advise John Kerry not to be seen "as the candidate of the Hate Party." Jacoby whines about the rough treatment accorded Bush by Michael Moore, but conveniently forgets about the savaging that Bill Clinton took from the likes of Matt Drudge, Bill O' Reilly, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and the other right-wing attack dogs during his presidency.

Jacoby asks, "How restrained is Michael Moore?" and calls Moore a Bush-hating demagogue. What then do you suppose we ought make of that paragon of restraint and civility, Rush Limbaugh? Somehow Jacoby seems to feel that delving into possible financial ties between Bush and the bin Laden family (not to mention the Saud family) should be off-limits to "mainstream Democrats" and that curiosity as to what extent Halliburton profits from the Iraq invasion is an unwarranted smear on the administration. But where was Jacoby's concern for fairness when Ken Starr set off on a ruthless crusade intended to bring down Clinton's presidency?

If Jacoby is interested in eliminating the politics of hatred, personal attack, and destruction of one's political opponent, he might better direct his suggestions to Karl Rove than toward mainstream Democrats.

14. Great job.. We MUST make them OWN the hate
They created it, they nurture it, and then try to pin it on US..

Of course THEY own 99% of the microphones, so it's a given that they will never own up to it..and they are the ones DOING it :grr:

11. Oh, I hate him!
I don't have to love everyone, I don't have to like everyone. I wasn't born hating the chimp. I don't hate the chimp in a vacuum. I hate him for his actions, his policies, his personality.
Every time I see him, every time I hear about another of his nefarious schemes, I hate him a little more. I hate his fucking guts. He sucks!

OK?

12. Excellent post!
This is a great piece to share with those we are trying to convert. I would also include that it is hateful to expect our troops to fight a war without the right equipment while their benefits, housing, and hospitals are being cut by needed funds.

16. I hate him. I hate all evil.
I won't mince words. He's not just a bad president. His father was one of those, and I don't hate his father (although W seems to). Bush is plain old evil. He's not Lucifer evil, in that he actively tries to invent knew ways to cause pain for pain's sake. He's evil in that he has no boundaries, no sense of right and wrong, when it comes to making decisions that hurt others. He cares only about what he gains, not what anyone else loses. That's evil.

Great post. You are dead on.
