Why isn't there a boycott of Fox advertisers?
Why hasn't Move On or one of the other well heeled liberal groups organized a boycott of Fox news advertisers? Are they afraid it will backfire or perhaps they think now is not the time? Fox is a nonstop commercial for the Republicans, and unlike Moore, who admits he has an agenda, they profess to be fair and balanced. Conservatives have already demonstrated their willingness to penalize liberal bias, with their attacks on the Dixie Chicks, Whoopie Goldberg, and Linda Ronstadt. Progressives should do the same thing.

Perhaps if we compiled a list of advertisers and products on Fox News shows we could get a group like Move On to mail it out?

Your thoughts?

Between FNC and the local channels in every city in the country, we'd be boycotting the whole world.

8. Then let's just target a few advertisers
I'm not sure of the best strategy, but it seems to me that if you successfully boycott a few advertisers, others will be afraid that they'll be next.

For a boycott to succeed, it needs to be led by a group with a lot of clout. How about if we put together an electronic petition to Move On? Let them strategize the best approach. If we put together a petition, maybe Skinner would give it a prominent place on DU.

What'd'ya think?

7. by avoiding the programs, you'll avoid the sponsers. Sponsers don't
advertise when it's not profitable and they don't get exposure. Don't turn on FOX, simple as that.

9. HOW DO THEY CALCULATE the RATINGS? Does it matter if we watch
(WHICH I DON'T... it is beyond my capabilities...) OR NOT? Aren't the ratings done through boxes on TVs? I am ignorant about this because I just got cable. AND WILL GET RID OF IT IN ONE and A HALF MONTHS.
I did not have a TV for 21 years and I will go back to no TV... IT IS JUST ABSOLUTELY SLIME. I thought it would be good to know what was going on during he elections but it just drives me to despair... I knew the country was "idotized" but not to this extent.

10. when you call to cancel, tell them you did not like their choices of
right wing media. When they offer a more balanced choice, they may call you to possibly pay for their service again. They have a way of knowing how many people tune in, probably through the cable box or something.

13. Boycott

Come on guys. We're not Freeptards.

We have to stop worrying about what is said on FOX NEWS.

We ALL know they are liars, and mainstream America isn't watching FOX. The numbers they put out about "Highest Rated News Network" are deceiving.

By the numbers, CNN has a higher cume which advertisers look for, which is why advertising rates are enormously higher for CNN.

The average FOX viewer tunes in and sits there like a zombie nodding their heads. These are people who are beyond reaching.

Write them off.

What we need to do, is to focus on MSNBC, CNN and the Big Three.

Personally, I would not mind some serious attack towards ABC and NBC respectively for their obvious Pro-Bush stance.

More Americans are watching THOSE networks.

If we are going to be smart, and we need to be, we need to follow the lead of Clinton. He has shown us the way.

Take their issue, and beat them over the head with it.

I personally registered 30 new young women voters in the last week.

Here's how. "Do you support a woman's right to choose? Then you had better vote for Kerry."

If we are to win, we can't be a bunch of radicals. (Even though we are!!!)

PEACE.

18. Boycott's of advertisers are stupid....and they for the most part
don't work.
When I see someone at DU calling for a boycott, it's the same as when I see those "DU this poll" comments.
You think you're "helping the cause"....but in reality you're playin' with your pudd.
If you REALLY want to help, go do some dooor to door for your candidate.Lick some stamps.Cross check a voter database.
Boycott's and "DUing polls" don't really get us anywhere. But maybe they help LAZY people think they are "helping the cause".
