He should come out WEARING IT...then step out of it before he gets to the podium, and start by saying that Part of the problem with the current administration is their JUVENILE approach to science.. and that special jobs require special uniforms.. like military uniforms that REAL soldiers wear...
and he could appeal to the news media with something like this.."I know you all love to poke fun at candidates when they "dress up" in unusual outfits, and as much as we would like to counter, we are NOT going to promote the picture of George Bush picking his nose..or the one where he falls off the segway..or the one where he does his doggy salute..or the one where he spits on the white house lawn..
It would show that he has a sense of humor, and it would throw the ball back into their court...
