Paul and James of Crossfire
These are two of the top debating liberals I have seen on cable news network propoganda shows. Paul and James both have south drawls, which leads me to suspect they grew up in the south. Therefore they grew up around people opposed to their positions and princpals and they had to learn how to talk to people who disagreed with them. Both of them are very suave and smooth. Who do you think are the best debating liberals?

4. I don't know where Begala's from
but Carville is a ragin' Cajun from Louisiana ... I don't think he exactly has a southern drawl, but more of a Creole rapid fire patois

6. There are lots of smart, fiery, well-informed dems...
you just won't see them on the cable whore shows very often.

Think Joe Conason, Eric Alterman, Molly Ivins, etc.

The prevalence of phony and/or milquetoast dems is not due to a shortage of talent.

8. He would be in the milquetoast category.
Although I heard he did pretty well last night.

I think maybe it's in his contract--once a month he gets to "beat" Hannity.

9. Not surprising at all if the fix is in for him
He does poorly to make Hannity and the right look well.

11. How do you figure?
"Therefore they grew up around people opposed to their positions and princpals(sic)and they had to learn how to talk to people who disagreed with them."

To accept your premise, one would have to agree with you that there were no Liberals in the South. Quite a stretch..yes?

13. Maybe
Well, you may be right. I'm just making the assumption that the south is mostly red and you would be around people who oppose your values hence you learning to rebutt their views.
