Media Reminder: Every Action Has An Equal & Opposite Reaction
Edited on Tue Jul-27-04 04:03 PM by stopbush
That's why the corporate media are out in full RNC spin mode today. The Dems opened their convention with a bunch of certified political rock stars who clobbered * with their positive message. Anyone watching the convention was struck by a simple fact: our country has fallen into the abyss in the past 4 years.

The R's and their wholly owned media agents are quaking in their boots. It's simple: the media wants to sell ignorance to a willing gaggle of consumers. Their programming was always aimed at the lowest common denominator, and - since Reagan - their news divisions have followed suit. The media want a stupid populace to watch its idiotic shows and buy the absolute crap that their corporate advertisers are shilling. The Rs are more than happy to aid and abet the media by short-changing education, reducing every legitimate issue to one of "faith and morals" and pandering to the worst in human nature. It not only appeals to the reptilian side of human nature, it keeps them in power with the frightened sheep who want their answers handed to them rather than having issues truly discussed and debated.

The good news: the Dems offer hope to step back from the Republican abyss. The country knows it needs change - that's another reaction to the R's action of 4 years of unabashed plunder and pseudo-fascism. The only question is whether Americans still have the courage to act on their beliefs.

1. Thoroughly enjoyed
your meat & potatoes rant. I mean without fluff. Lowest common denominator is America 2004. Must battle back or risk creating an even bigger monstrosity.

3. Agreed. Crunch Time is growing nearer every day and our ability
to avert it diminishes after November.

4. There is no
after November in my mind. America crawled out onto a ledge on the 47th floor, and if we can't koax her back in, she's gonna jump.

2. If that was true, than why is the media always very conservative?
