Do they know what "Liberal" means?

The one word these TeeVee talking heads keep saying is,

"Liberal, Liberal, Liberal"

DO any of them speak the English language? They toss the word around like it means LEPER.

This is how corporate media is shoving this right up our asses.

Is America terrified of the word "liberal"??

1. I wish somebody would ask Judy what she thinks liberal means.
She tosses it around the most! If I had a freaking nickel for everytime she called Kerry a "Massachusets liberal" I WOULD BE IN THE TOP 1% of rich people! I want to know what she thinks a Massachusets liberal actually means!

3. It's amazing

None of these idiots can cover this without using the word liberal like it's some kind of epithet.

I wonder if they will cover the RNC and use words like, bible thumper, radical, extremist, freeptard, or my favorite...

"Wet-Brained, Coked out, underacheiver who became president of the USofA because of his daddy's right wing freak Supreme Court Justice Appointees doing favors for the Carlyle Crowd?"

(One can hope right?)

2. Liberal defined
Here is the definition of liberal:

Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.

Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism.

Liberal Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political liberalism, especially in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States.

Being a liberal is something to be proud of.

4. I wish everytime someone used the word in a negative tone that....
whomever was being interviewed would simply ask them for their definition??? Just so we know where we are starting from? If they say "big spenders", remind them that George W Bush and the so-called "conservatives" have put forth the largest budgets in history for the last several years? And they have run us into more debt, just Reagan and the two Bushes, than all our other presidents combined. So, just what is your definition of a "liberal", before we continue this discussion? Because I think my definition may be different from yours??

8. Good idea.
The problem with liberals has long been the reluctance to challenge the right wing. We've been steamrolled because we never fought back.

Along with your point, Kerry ought to open his speech saying the Republicans are trying to scare you by saying I'm a liberal--as if that was something to fear. Then he should read the definition of liberal from Webster's dictionary. After discussing each item in the definition, he should say yes, that is what I believe in. And challenge the audience--do you feel that way, well then you too are a LIBERAL! And that is something to be proud of. Then read the definition of conservative! Ouch!

Most Americans would be shocked to find out that they are liberals. Maybe we could reclaim the word.

5. Liberal means giving......
If that's a dirty word I will kiss limpball's boiled ridden ass! I can't figure out why our politicians run from it.....what they SHOULD be doing is reading the dictionary to the freaks, give them the definition of the word Liberal. Instead, the repukes act like it's a cuss word and the dems want no part of it.What a screwed up bunch of pussies we have on our side. It's embarrassing. :argh:

6. No. Liberal is now a NewSpeak word, redefined by Goebbels v2.0
for the specific purpose mentioned in Orwell's '1984'.

MANY words have been redefined, many more are slated for redefinition.

Standard Operating Procudre in Totalitarian Nations like Imperial Amerika.

7. It's ridiculous, isn't it?
We should be shouting from the rooftops that we're LIBERAL and PROUD of it.

Bush is a Conneticut conseravtive. Why isn't THAT considered slander?

9. I've always used my own definition of LIBERAL...
...it's someone who tries to help people WHO CAN'T DO A DAMN THING FOR THEM IN RETURN.
