We're seeing a national career begin here tonight, people.

He is magnificent.

PBS is gushing oover his speech.

5. We actually have made a lot of progress in the last 50 years.
Maybe I just have rose colored glasses but despite undeniable, persistant, as well as institutionalized racism, it really seems to me that the country is not as racially polarized as it was, and tolerance is much more highly valued than it was.

8. Color me unconvinced.
Obama's, what, early forties? Maybe in twenty years when most of the "greatest generation" have left this mortal coil.

6. I used to think the same--but you should see the turnout for him in S. ILL
White or nearly all white rural crowds and people seem crazy about him. He's got the mojo.

7. Most definitely
without a doubt.

I love that man. That was the first time I had ever heard him speak and I was blown away. I've been a speech and debate coach, so my standards aren't low for being blown away, either.

What an amazing man. Amazing.
