I didn't have the same love many of you have for Tersea from the get go, and it had nothing to do with the "shove it" business. She just seemed very angry in every interview I saw her in, and very arrogant.

That bit about the right to be opinionated was right on, though. I am quite opinionated myself - I just like those who can be strong in their convictions with a smile on their face simultaneously!

and they know it. That's why we have every network, except C-SPAN, with RW talking heads who have to bash everthing, everyone says. They are TOAST come November. The Democrats are UNITED like I've NEVER seen. I have hope again.

Teresa kicked ass!

107. here we go....Tweety on Theresa
"Will she play in Peoria?"

"She's got an accent"

"Is Laura Bush more acceptable than Theresa?"

"Will she appeal to Middle America?"

Thankfully, Tweety's panel is hammering him, but Christ, what a thinly veiled attempt to play to the racist goons for absolutely no goddamn reason.

should appeal to Republicans on the fence. She has crossed the fence and is likely to bring a lot of other Republicans, especially women, with her.

109. Teresa Heinz Kerry has set a standard for women in one speech
I remember when Anita Hill was under oath. Orin Hatch dismissed her testimony as being that of an "outspoken opinionated woman," whose views could, naturally be dismissed out of hand. I was surprised at the time that he didn't simply say, "She's just a nigger. Who cares what she has to say?" Of course, that's where America is today with the word "liberal."

At any rate, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony would have been proud of Teresa last night.

112. I heard it today on NPR
in fact spent the day listening to Obama and her. I was filled with PRIDE. Pride in the fact they have a view and vision for The United States of America. Summabeach, I wish I could have taped it. I work with a new citizen of the country from Cuba, and even he said he could hear the tone of the speeches.

113. some points about Theresa's speech
First, I like the way they showcased Theresa as a mother. The repukes have not yet figured her out so they can't stereotype her. Nothing they've come up with has really resonated and the Democrats did the smart thing by having her sons introduce her. When her son talked about his mother putting his school lunch together, everyone could identify. This took Theresa out of the realm of the super-rich and made her a mom--a mom like most of us have experienced.

Then when she walked out to deliver her speech, she took her time and that told us something: it told us this woman knows how to handle an audience. She told us that she is worth waiting for.

As a speech teacher, I often tell my students to pause and to speak slowly. This is what I liked most about her speech. She used silence effectively and she spoke clearly and slowly so we could all understand.

I thought the red suit was interesting. Red is a tricky color. It can incite anger. But this particular suit had a very soft collar and if you note, the collar was raised around her face. In fact it sort of looked like a Valentine.

This speech left me feeling very good about Theresa Heinz Kerry. I thought about the speech off and on, all night long. It really was a wonderful speech to "dream on."

Cher

She spoke and meant what she said, execellent portrait of a great first lady. I think her heart has been with the democrats a long time.
