I wish Teresa were running for president. Her husband's OK, but I'd really rather have her. Did she not seem like presidential material? I thought so.

Anyway, I'm watching her speech on C-Span, and I flip over to Fox - which my mother watches exclusively - and am gratified to see the speech is on. I'm thinking there's no way my mom could see this woman and not be impressed. Well, there is a way and she's probably not impressed, but at least she's seeing it. Again I find myself pondering and fretting over how people and my mother in particular can be so irrational. It's really been bothering me lately.

After the speech, I flip back over to Fox just to see what's going on, and they're trashing it - the two Beltway Boys and a couple other people. It was self-indulgent, it was bizarre, blah blah blah - and they were freaking serious. Shocked and disgusted, I changed the channel.

There are two possible conclusions: (a) They're deranged, or (b) it's a purposeful attack. It sickens me that my mother listens to these people.

of her life story, I thought about all the things she and John Kerry have accomplished in their lives, and all the things John & Elizabeth Edwards have accomplished in their lives ... and then I thought about the Bushes and the Cheneys. WTF have these four people done with their lives? Everything they have was handed to them on a silver platter, but were they grateful for it, did I try to "give back" something because they were so fortunate? Of course not! They spent their entire lives pissing all over people so they could make even more money! Tell me ... how much money does a person need anyway?! :grr:

Most Repugs don't like their women folke to pursure careers or form independent thoughts, but L. Bush has been instruemental in securing funding for libraries and the NEA. It's not a particularly large amount of funding, but enough for her to promote herself as an active first lady. I guarantee you she'll use that precise angle next month at Nuremburg..I mean New York. She'll probably mention that Dems always criticise the right for wanting to axe the arts, but her hubbie upped the NEA by 18 million because "he CARES..(aww)" Get ready for Laura to be spun as Mrs. Liberal Arts to offset Heinz-Kerry's outspokenness.
