It just never fricking ends, does it?
Peter Jennings just reported that while Bush* was giving an AIDS speech in Botswana, the House cut his $15 Billion AIDS bill promise to Africa by one-third.

Amazing.

BTW, Jennings did a good job on the Smirk uranium lies and made it clear that the CIA told the WH BEFORE the SOTU speech that the claim was "not reliable".

1. And the story carried an IMPORTANT point, they used the lies about
the uranium because they felt that they could "pin it on the British" if something went wrong.

Tony, you thought these guys were your friends. Now what do you think?

3. Unfunded $15 billion
Wonder what programs will be cut to fund that. Bush tactics. Claim to support something, promise lots of money. Then use it to crush something or bury it later.

4. Not just that... One-third of the money goes for abstinence education

Senate approves $15 billion bill to fight AIDS in Africa: One-third of funds earmarked for abstinence programs

Washington Blade - May 23, 2003

The U.S. Senate last week passed a $15 billion bill to curb the spread of AIDS in Africa and voted for a separate domestic economic reform package that includes $10 billion for struggling state Medicaid programs, the nation's largest providers of HIV/AIDS care.
The AIDS bill recommends that 55 percent of the funds go to treatment programs in Africa while one-third will fund abstinence-based programs. The remaining funds would cover condom distribution programs aimed at promoting faithfulness, palliative care and programs assisting children who have lost one or both of their parents to AIDS-related causes.

----------------------------------------

They tried "Just say No!" for drugs, and it didn't work...what makes them think that it will work for sex?

also- I wonder how many of those "faith-based programs" operating in Africa have ties to Pat Robertson and other subsidiaries of the BFEE?

5. Wow, it would be nice if somebody would dig up
President Apostate's "no child left behind" embarrassment.

7. How do you figure THAT???
Anyone who's really a "lefty and proud" would NEVER make such a ludicrous statement, let alone actually believe it:

"well, come on folks...You gotta admit. The broadcast guys are on our side..heehee"

Is that why we heard so much about how Jebby and his fuck-bag Kate got some 50,000 innocent blacks thrown off the voter's rolls in 2000?

Is that why Al Gore got such a 'fair shake' during the 2000 campaign?

Is that why the names "Ken Lay" & Enron are never heard on tv anymore?

and on and on and on and on...

9. Not Even Close
Read the book "The Tipping Point" and you see how Jennings was clearly biased towards Reagan that it is believed he influenced votes. The Media guys aren't even close to being liberal. They only care about what side their bread is buttered.
