New Song about Fox, the War, and Bush. Need your support

Hello Everyone,


I just wanted to post and share a song with you all called "Talking Points".

For those of you who "Get It", there are a lot of refrences I think you'll find amusing. I have always believed if

you are passionate about something, you do what you can for that cause. If I were a painter, I would paint; but as

a musican, all I have is my music.

So I put together this tune for all the kindred spirits out there who feel as I do. I think the lyrics will hit

home for a lot of you and I hope I was able to put into this song what a lot of you are thinking. Those of you who

are not kindred spirits can get something out of this as well. If you actually listen to the words and really think

about it, it's hard to deny the turth in it.

I really believe this tune could be beneficial to our efforts, if I could find a way to get it out there. I think

that if the twenty-somethings (like myself) who normally don't vote can get this tune stuck in their head and start

to sing along with it, eventually the words will sink in and they will say, "Wait a minute, maybe I can help to make

a change".


Unfortunately, in this life it's not what you know, it's who you know, and I don't know anyone. So if any of you

are in the music industry, know anyone in the music industry, or, for that matter, know anyone period who you think

may have the power to get this out there, then please forward this on to them. At the very least, spread it around

to your firends and family. I'm releasing the .MP3 free, so I hope as many people as possible can enjoy it.

I like the lyrics . . . except I'd change one little line. . .

I would change "All our rights are treaded on." to "tread upon" instead. It fits just as well rhythmically, but is more "correct" grammatically :).

The chorus needs a real hook for it work/sell.

I only do parody songs for nyc radio and noticed serious preachy tunes are never broadcast. Good thing there is Air America Radio now.

I've had alot of nice email telling me it is very catchy. Perhaps just not your thing?

Also I don't really expect it to be played on most radio stations, but I do believe some would play it, and if I can get good distribution on the net I think it could really help the cause.

I am a conservative, and pretty much disagree with your message and everything on this board.
I do however, have to give credit where credit is due. Your song is extremely catchy and is worthy of praise for the talent and dedication alone. I have found myself bopping around to it (I have MP on repeat). I hope you do not mind if I actually share the link with others.

I'll check it out when I go home today. I like your idea of asking people to leave a tip on your site. I recently released an album via my blog and am doing the same thing.

People claim they don't like the RIAA yet they want artists to get paid. Let's hope they actually mean it. Of course, I wouldn't expect any tips if my music didn't add value in people's lives. We shouldn't feel entitled to it, I guess, but people tip waiters for good service why not musicians for good music?

I've knocked myself out for days churning out videos and mp3s, only to have them sink without a trace in seconds.

This could be because I suck, but I'm still waiting for the lab results on that.

Not taking it personally. Just frustrating. I believe this song could be a tool in helping unseat Bush. I put alot of time and effort into it and feel like i've done my part. But when it comes time for others to do there it seems they are a bit lacking. when we have 4 more years of Bush to look forward to, we will only have ourselves to blame.

I put my film career on hold post-9/11 and have been churning out hundreds of songs, films, and graphics since - steadily getting deeper and deeper into debt.

Sure, I'd love some more attention, a pat on the back, a big check at some point.

But ya know what? The work is its own reward in the end.

And when it all blows over and Bush is back fuckin' with his Gameboy in Crawford, we can answer the question: "So what did you do, Daddy?"

So, Onward!

(Actually, I think a good solution to the frenzied pace of GD causing good stuff like this to sink quickly would be a forum for media, AUDIO/VIDEO... songs, videos, Flash animation, links to CSPAN stuff, links to all the hundreds of files Wonk encodes, etc.)

Not looking for the attention, pat on the back, or the check. I truly believe Bush is gonna get re-elected, and I truly believe the only thing that can save us is the Twenty-Somethings getting fired up enough to get out there and vote. And there is just nothing fireing them up right now. A few good songs stuck in there head could really make a difference. I'm a believer.

Thanks for your words. I did email it to Air America but have not heard anything back. I'm trying to start more of a grass roots thing with this tune. As I'm not about the money, I feel this is the best way to get this song out there and infect as many people as possible with the truth.

But one man can not do a grass roots campaign. So I need as many people as possible to help bump this post, and to post it on all the baords they can find. As well as send emails to places like Air America supporting the tune. Any help I can get on this is not only appreciated by me, but also the entire world who won't have to suffer through 4 more years of Bush.
