'Millionaire Trial Lawyer"
On NPR this morning talking about the election. They referred to Edwards as the 'millionaire trial lawyer'. Why the hell don't they call Cheney the Multimillionaire veep Or bush* as the millionaire president. This is utter horseshit. It is subtle bias.

1. Cheney is a "millionaire government contractor".
Because that's exactly how Halliburton made its money.

7. Someone on Air America said that we should replace the term "trial lawyer"
the term "public protection lawyer" because they represent the interests of the public rather than corporate profits.

8. Cheney is a millionaire defense contractor
The millions Edwards was paid did not come out of my tax dollars. Cheney's did.

9. And Bush made his milllions . . . how?
Ah, the old-fashioned way: Daddy and his friends gave the money to him. At least Edwards earned his money honestly. If he didn't win the case, he didn't get paid.

As opposed to Stupidhead, who made millions whether his drill struck oil or air.

13. Off The Backs Of The Tax Paying, Hard-Working Citizens Of Dallas!!
Remember, he sold $800,000 worth of Harken stock, just before it tanked, when he was on the Board of Harken, and KNEW bad news was coming...and he bailed before the bad news hit...This is called insider trading. Martha Stewart got five months for similar activites.
Bush got off clean, because, guess who was Prez at the time this happened? D-A-D-D-Y!!
He then took $660,000 of that money, and bought an interest in the Texas Rangers. Then he held the good people of Arlington, Texas hostage to building his ballclub a new stadium with tax dollars...that the TEAM would then own...not the taxpayers who had PAID for it.
Then, when he ran for Gubnor, he had to sell his interest in the club, as it presented a conflict of interest somehow. He turned his original $660,000 into $13 million, becuase of the added value of the new ballpark, which was paid for by the taxes of hard-working, tax-paying citizens of Arlington and Dallas, Texas.

14. Total bias - and just watch as it gets worse
Republicans hate lawyers -- even though they use them, like everyone else.

Lawyers who have fought against big corporate interests are the most hated. Trial lawyers know how to speak, how to handle themselves in front of an audience, how to persuade people to see things as they see them. All very dangerous to the GOP.

Being married to a lawyer, the bashing just makes me ill.

15. I think it is just disgraceful that Edwards started from a humble...
...and honest background and then used his education to help people and become a success. It is down-right un-American if you ask me.
