1. Yeah -
It's just the same with blacks as with women. Whites don't see racism because it doesn't impact them. Men often don't see sexism for the same reason. But for a woman to say this she must be in total denial.

2. Or she could be a fundie
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 09:57 AM by redqueen
Fundie women think women shouldn't vote and should submit themselves to their husbands, so naturally someone like that would seethe with hatred for a woman like Teresa Heinz Kerry, who inspires women to be more than just servants.

9. Plus, a lot of the sexism comes from Rush...
and the like. He is always spreading anti-feminist remarks. My friend's mother just loves him and agrees when he slanders women, not to mention her nemesis, Hillary Clinton.

I do not get it. Yes, be a woman and attack the very thing that has liberated you. Without feminism, she would not be able to vote for her precious (Shrub) and no doubt have to ask her husband to leave the house.

It is twisted thinking.

4. Not many were fighting it in 1964. Not many

were even aware of it.

5. yeah, and who turned back the clock?
YOU RW F****rs, that's who. It's becasue of your ignorance that we have to start over again from decades ago to try and build back to the level we had then!

I hope you're proud of yourselves. It's what you wanted.

7. Exactly!!
I will be so happy the day we get past the criticism of women speaking out -- right down to the tone of their voices (strong=shrill; soft=weak; fast=hysterical, emotional; slow=boring; smart=condescending, etc...)

I am SO ready for Teresa as first lady!!

8. They weren't finished winding back
the clock - I believe they had in mind getting back to the Dark Ages.

The Democrats are loaded with talent and common sense - that is what is coming out loud and clear in this convention.

Now if Al From and Will Marshal will just get the hell out of the way - we stand an excellent chance of reversing the "wind back" those wimpy weeners let happen over the past quarter century.

6. There's a thread in GD right now about a doctor refusing
to prescribe birth control pills for a patient, not out
of concern for the woman's health, but for other reasons.
In 2004.

No the fundie is full of shit.

:grr:

11. I have know some women who
are willing to take a back seat with men. All are self absorbed and just plain lazy. You know, 'let George do it'. They don't want to strain the brain, they moan a lot and lay around incessently during their pregnacies, can't carry in a load of groceries or take out the garbage and have a tendency to get together with other lazy do-nothings and bitch about their husbands.

14. I've known a few women who were forced
to be hospitalized for much of their pregnancies. How lazy can you get. :eyes:

16. I have known several women
who are wisely committed to bed rest during pregnancy. I refer to those able healthy women who take advantage of their 'delicate' condition and run it into the ground.

and in the next second, she is denigrated for being outspoken! Who are these pundit whores? I think there are too many news channels, and not enough talent to staff them.

17. Republicans don't like "opinionated" women
let alone other opinions in general.

(I loved how she emphasized that in her speech "opinionated"!)
