KERRY Campaign, Can You Hear Me?
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 11:13 AM by UTUSN
My local wingnut talkshow host just started doing his own sliming of Teresa KERRY, saying the only part of her shove-it remarks he was faulting was that she DID say "unAmerican". He neglected to mention that the reporter was a SCAIFE fiend who has been provoking her for years, AND that the "reporter" injected the word "activities" as in "unAmerican ACTIVITIES" falsely.

I called the station and the staffer said this was news to him. I said, "You all are in the news business and this has been hashed and debunked a million times, and you DON'T KNOW?" He said, "We're just too busy (to keep up)."

Haha. News people are just too busy to get correct information.

On the air, the wingnut keeps repeating that Teresa looks/acts like she "wants people to kiss her ring."

I also said to the dude on the phone that if the JK campaign would just capitalize on her "SPEAKING SPANISH and put her in charge of Florida and Texas and other Hispanic areas, it would be a canonization and a landslide. Shrub could pack his bags to go all the way back to KENNEBUNKPORT and take Jeb Crow Shrub with him.

If there's anybody here with direct lines to somebody in the JK campaign: The Hispanic population -----in HUGE numbers----DOES NOT VOTE. To a profound extent, this group is YEARNING for attention. It is "sleeping" in retaliation for being IGNORED. Did the JK campaign hear the THRILL that went through the convention crowd when Teresa uttered the first words in SPANISH??????----------JK, Can You HEAR ME????????

.... "I've been a reporter for 25 years, and we call it the 'bs meter' when somebody does something so incredibly ridiculous like this," McNickle said. "All I do is ask the questions." ....

"I'm a little uncomfortable with all this attention," McNickle said, explaining why he has turned down all but a few interview requests. "I'm here to report the news, not to make it." ....

McNickle, a married father of two teenage daughters whose wife works as a bank teller, said he toiled for United Press International and the Associated Press before joining the Tribune-Review a decade ago. The paper - which in the mid-1990s notoriously promoted the theory that Clinton White House lawyer Vince Foster's suicide was really a sinister murder plot to protect the political interests of Bill and Hillary - is owned by reclusive right-wing billionaire Richard Mellon Scaife. ....

McNickle is his paper's lone representative at the Democratic Convention. ....

3. Kudos to you
for trying to educate your own local wingnut. Dig up as much evidence as you can on how this cat was and let him have it--not that it will change his opinion of us or anything but I believe in fighting them with everything we've got and letting them now that the other half has opinions and it's high time that our voices be heard too!

4. "We're just too busy"
"to do our jobs."

Are they unbelievable, or what?

Thanks for calling in. They are ignoring the "unAmerican Activities" misquote -- it is a loaded phrase, and she didn't use it.

I think the campaign does realize her appeal to Hispanics, and also have Menendez and Richardson front and center at the convention, frequently speaking in Spanish.

6. Here's the Code
<span style="background:yellow">TEXT</span>

Substitute brackets instead of the "greater-than/lesser-than" diamonds.

Thanks to SoCalDem, who has great learning threads on html in The Meeting Room forum. I'm ashamed to say the yellow highlighting is all I know. I just don't have time--------Oooo, just like the news media.

7. And on a related story
WHERE THE HELL is my "Send ME" t-shirt?

Kerry campaign, that shirt should have been out before Bill Clinton even left the stage at the convention the night before last. Here's a clue: www.cafepress.com.

Every person I have talked to about "Send ME" that didn't see Bill Clinton's speech was tremendously excited, and absolutely in agreement: It is the defining phrase of this campaign. If they want an even better t-shirt, put the quote "Strength and "Strength and wisdom are not opposing values. They go hand in hand," on the back.

I agree with you, UTUSN: While we're sending John Kerry to the White House, let's send Theresa as well. Her wit, charm, intelligence and mastery of five languages (!) ensures that the Hispanic population of the USA will love her just as the convention crowd and viewers did last night.

9. "Traits"-------She Said "Traits", Not "Activities"
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 11:08 AM by UTUSN
*******QUOTE*******

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/07/26/campaign.controversy/

.... This is what Teresa Heinz Kerry said Sunday to delegates from her home state of Pennsylvania:

"We need to turn back some of the creeping un-Pennsylvanian and sometimes un-American traits that are coming into some of our politics."

Afterward, a journalist questioned what she meant but the two disagreed on exactly what she said.

The exchange between the two follows:

Reporter: Un-American activity ....

She denied having said "activities," but she also denied having said "un-American." ....

20. UTUSN: McNickle is a miniTurd of the BFEE.
This toad is so biased, it's not even funny.

Here's a "column" by this NAZI* from 2001 (thanks, BuzzFlash!):

This column will really upset liberals

By Colin McNickle
Sunday, December 16, 2001

As with fools, I don't suffer liberals gladly. I'm a proud member of the vast right-wing conspiracy. If not a founding member, I'm at least a charter member and darn proud of it. And I, too, find myself continually shaking my head over the Styrofoam-for-brains liberals and ``their'' media.

SNIP...

Oh, and did I forget to mention the pristine, framed copy of the April 12, 1945, edition of the Martins Ferry-Bellaire, Ohio, Times-Leader, my hometown newspaper, that hangs just to the right of my clock and above my bank of computer terminals?

It features that very large headline, ``Roosevelt Dead,'' from which I garner immeasurable inspiration every single day.

CONTINUED...

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/opinion/columnists/mcnickle/s_8526.html

* NAZI scum like McNickle wanted FDR dead, too.
