Cincinnati B&N sold out of the 9/11 Commission Report on its first day |
|
I was at one yesterday, with this nagging feeling as I was walking around that there was something I wanted, but couldn't remember what. Idiot I am, I did the usual pass of the current events rack, and nothin'.
I picked up my Newsweek when I got home, and duh - so I call the B&N back, and I'm shocked to hear they had it and ran out, first day.
Yes, I know it's incomplete, insufficient, all that -- but as a document from a Commission who actually analyzed what happened, inspired by the families of the victims, and chock full of new information and suggestions...I want a copy. Flame away.

It's like - hey, wow...there are people in this country who read and care about their country.

for this thing since Saturday and can find it nowhere. Finally yesterday I go to Barnes and Noble, figuring a real bookstore will surely have it, and I can't find it there either. I began to question whether it had actually come out in book form, but I remembered seeing a copy of the cover. So then it starts to dawn on me that maybe it sold out. I hope they get it soon, I have three weeks off between summer semester and fall semester, and I'd like to get this thing reaad while I can.

that you can download .pdf versions online for free? Whole thing is about four and a half megs, the site also has it broken into sections if you're not on broadband. < http://www.gpoaccess.gov/911 />

The Net is not the be-all end-all, even if it is free.
I like to have a book in my hands -- something I can put in the shelf when I'm done and easily refer to again if I so desire.
