1. Edwards, but I'm more interested in DK, myself |
|
I never really got on board with Edwards in the primary, though I recognized his ability. Kucinich spoke to me more than anyone else on the issues, and so I hope they make good use of him. I thought the convention could have used Dean better, incidentally.

6. Rev. Al said he is going to answer Bush's question |
|
from his speech to the Urban League: “Does the Democrat party take African American voters for granted? I know plenty of politicians assume they have your vote. But do they earn it and do they deserve it? Have the traditional solutions of the Democrat party truly served the African American community?” asked Bush. http://www.michigandaily.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/07/26/410499f8504b5

Of course, the speeches are said to have been "vetted" so who knows. Be fun if someone were to go off script.

11. Based on the last two days, I don't know if I believe that rumor |
|
the only speech that really seemed tame was Dean, and I think after Iowa he just 'overdid' it in toning himself down.

15. well it's a power packed lineup |
|
so we'll see how they do.
I heard that Dean did not write his own speech. If that's true, it would have been interesting to see how he would have gone if given free rein.

21. I heard that on DU, nowhere else. |
|
I personally find it highly doubtful that Dean is going to suddenly allow other people to put words in his mouth. Good soldier or not, that doesn't sound like Dean to me.

30. yeah, it is 2 separate questions |
|
hopefully Edwards will be most talked about because if he isn't, it means somebody else said something really stupid in their speech
I would expect the most entertaining to be either Edwards or Sharpton.

Will rip Bush a new one. Thats if the DNC lets him be himself. That will be must see TV.
Edwards will do great as well. That guy can get energy and excitement out of a church Bingo Hall!!
I also think Dennis will give a great speech. i hope he speaks about the evils of WAR. Thank You Dennis, The Peach Man of the Party

17. Given the attitudes of the delegates, Sharpton and Kucinich |
|
... will receive the most vigorous responses from the floor of the convention.
I often think 'liberals' are habitually able to take "self-denial" from being a virtue to being a masochistic fault. If I had a nickel for every person who denied himself the representation of a Sharpton or Kucinich, whose policy positions are far more closely aligned with "the base" than the cluster of road-middlers (who're more "electable"? by whom?), well...

There's no question that Sharpton will give the most rousing speech, he's a master. Plus, he'll be back int he spotlight with everyone listening to him for a few minutes, he won't fail to ignite the crowd.

Kucinich, bringing passion, integrity, loyalty, and courage to the podium.
Edwards, bringing positive energy and hope.
And Sharpton...just being Sharpton.
I don't know whose will get talked about the most, but I expect all 3 to be exciting.

I will listed to both for sure.
The same as Monday night. There were some fantastic speakers who got LOTS of ovations, but the Big Dog rocked the building.
