This "people don't know Kerry" line is a bunch of BS
I am getting damn sick and tired of hearing this "but who is Kerry?" and "people don't really know Kerry" bullshit. That's all it is is bullshit.

My God, do they want the man to knock on every freaking door in America, come in, sit down, have tea and a chat with everyone?

Hello? The guy is all over the place. He has a website where you can read ALL about him, he's had many many articles written on him, especially in the last several months. If you don't know anything about him by now, you are seriously living under a rock, OR you just love saying that.

And all this "but what specifically will he do differently?" stuff is bullshit, too. If I had a dollar for every time a person griped to me that they don't know specifics about his plans, I'd be a rich person. I ALWAYS send them to johnkerry.com, but they either don't read it or pretend not to have found their answers. That's when I suggest they email the campaign or ask on the blog, they never do.

People, that line is utter bullshit. Every and any time you hear or read ANYONE saying "but we don't know who Kerry is", call 'em on it. It's lame and it's old. ANYONE can find out all they want or need to know about him easily.

Sick of it.

10. And/or because
they don't want to know. Why? So they can keep screaming that they don't know anything about him.

It's utter bullshit and it pisses me off no end. I have zero patience with this line anymore.

Don't know enough about him? GO TO JOHNKERRY.COM! Go read a news magazine or a newspaper, for the love of all that is good and holy. But quit your bitching. The info is out there, stupid idiots!

By the way either the new Newsweek or Time has as its covery story an article about how people still don't know who Kerry is.

Can you FREAKING imagine bush getting this kind of negative press in 2000? No fucking way. And THAT pisses me off more than anything.

4. Agreed.... How much more do they need to know?
Boxers, briefs, or commado?
Curvature issues?
Regular or Irregular bowel movements?

Let's be realistic, I know everything I need to know about Kerry to know he will make a better President than Bush. When the media say we don't know him, we need to respond by asking what it is they wish they knew about him.

6. I want him to go for a bike ride with me.
But I made up my mind that he's the man I want for President a long time ago.

Wouldn't it be great to spend some "quality time" with him, though?

7. um... people DON'T know John Kerry
everyone knows about Bush because we've lived under his rule for 3+ years. Aside from the few media tidbits (war hero, flip-flopper) it's true that MOST people DO NOT know anything about him.

Sure, they can FIND OUT themselves if they want to. That's a huge difference from KNOWING about JK. I think its very true that he hasn't had enough exposure yet for john doe to really have an opinion.

So, um. Calm down.

11. No thanks
I'll take a pass on your suggestion to calm down.

The very people bitching that they don't know anything about him have ample access to tons of information about him, they just refuse to read it/hear it.

Which makes their argument disingenuous at best, bullshit at worst.

That's why I'm sick of it. And the media is perpetuating it.

And why hasn't he had enough exposure yet? If John Doe wants to plug up his ears, close his eyes, then scream that he doesn't know anything about John Kerry, there's really not a lot anyone can do about that except call it for the bullshit it really is.

8. I don't know.....
There are people in this country who don't know who the Vice President is. Many people didn't know the names of the candidates running in the Democratic Primary.

What annoys me about the news coverage of John Kerry is that its always about crap that doesn't matter. Is he too liberal? Does he look funny in a required NASA outfit? Botox? Rich outspoken wife? Does he look French? Stupid crap. There are days I wonder if I'm suppose to vote for a highschool class president or POTUS. The "issues" covered are juvenile and meaningless and it keeps us from having any real political conversation.

12. Exactly
"Who would you rather have a beer with?" One of the MOST INANE questions I have ever heard with regard to picking a president.

First of all, 99% of us will never meet the US President. So that question is rather silly right off the bat.

Secondly, I thought bush quit drinking.

Thirdly, Kerry doesn't drink beer.

Fourth, let's actually talk about some things with fricking SUBSTANCE in the media. What a refreshing damn change that would be.

in an interview with Tweety on Sunday night. She said he doesn't really drink beer, he prefers just a glass of wine with a meal.

19. I was just talking about the stupid beer question yesterday....
My first response is the same as yours "there's no way in hell you're going to sit and have a beer with either one of them so why do you care??"

My second response is something I think is very important for people to get through their thick skulls. You have to think of the candidates as potential employees. In a Democracy our politicians work for us. It's our job to interview the candidates for this job and while we might want to go to a bar and get drunk with one of them, we want to hire the one who can DO THE JOB.

9. Most people don't read.
They get their news from tv. If people don't know who John Kerry is who is to blame then? The CNN's that play every move Bushie* boy makes and cuts off Kerry for a planned breaking news event by Karl Rove, if they show him at all. It's obviously deliberate by the media. And they are always so fair and balanced when it comes to the Dems letting the Repukes put on their most repugnant talkers while the Dems get to what--get cut off and talked over by some loud mouth while the anchor laughs or stutters.

15. I agree with you,
we would all know a whole lot more about Kerry if the media would do their job and tell us about him and his policies. Instead--they keep running stupid stories telling us about how we don't know him (what is up with that)?

22. I agree. Independents...
and other swing voters are witholding comment until the very end of the election perhaps 1-2 weeks out. The rest of the country is completely divided--those for Bush and those for Kerry. I'm sick of this "they don't know him" line also. People are trying to decide whether Bush is worth reelecting(although I'm not sure why that is a tough question--they should just ask me and kick the guy out!!) History says that Kerry is a strong closer. This election hasn't really begun yet. What is great is all the money Bush has spent on negative ads which has done very little to tear Kerry down and improve Bush. The big advantage that Bush has is not that folks don't know Kerry as much as just the incumbent advantage Bush has. He has really been campaigning 24/7 since he took office. Everybody knows him--he has to make some folks forget him.

23. i like howard deans take on this: "the media covers 'shove it' more than
jk and his ideas about iraq"

too true. many actually havent been able to hear substantive information about kerry and the issues

they covered him big when * had the audacity to question kerrys medals etc, when kerry named edwards, when teresa made her comment and when kerry was in the nasa suit
pretty much sums up his tv coverage of late

i agree that you can get all kinds of information on his site and online if you want or have access to that.
