... some people just hate to hear R&B music. Don't know if it is a underlying racist issue or they just prefer their music monotone or whatever.
But everytime an African American singer or one inspired by such sings in any style other than straight notes, people whine about it.
A matter of taste, I guess.

16. Oh, that is not R & B. James Brown is R & B. Aretha is R & B. |
|
The new stuff is just warbling. I mean, I'm glad if it inspired people to get their groove on, but AFAIC it does *not* have a good beat and I *can't* dance to it.

"oh, no. THAT isn't R&B. I KNOW R&B. THAT was just warbling."
Tell Brian McKnight and every R&B radio station in the country he isn't R&B

I liked him rendition and I can't wait to show my friends.
I think everything has been awesome, I am so overjoyed seeing so many different types of people all getting along and being proud to be democrats.
I think everything has been full of energy. I am having a great time.

I grew up on it. But Brian McKnight is just tone deaf. Bebe Winans' version was much better.
I do agree with you though that some people seem to have bugs up their ass about anyone "getting ethnic" when it comes to the National Anthem. Just see the thread where the guy was mad people dared to wave their hands during the anthem. :eyes:

It made me cry. That was the best I've ever heard. And the fact that it was sung by native peoples in their own language...just, wow. So moving.
