... but he's an artist who has used his music to advance good causes. His involvement in FarmAid alone has helped keep the issue alive.
I'm a midwesterner, so I think I'm a bit partial to his music. I always thought of him as a regional artist, really. The midwest's Springsteen. (Honestly, if you grew up in southwestern Ohio, you didn't really hear much Springsteen, but radio dished up loads of Mellencamp.)
I like him.
