Tweedy just called Al's speech "Angry"...AND!
...he has Ralph Reed on right now.

Good lord. Good freakin' lord! I think Al scared the FUCKING SHIT out of all the talking heads who don't know how to respond to it. He told it like it is, he laid it out, he stuck it to Bush, and he's a black man who isn't afraid to speak his mind.

That scares those racist pigs in the Inner Circles. They aren't used to Obama, Sharpton, and other smart intelligent black men. I say go! GO! RAISE HELL! PREACH IT REV. SHARPTON! ROCK THE HOUSE! SLAP THAT DONKEY! RIDE IT FOR ALL IT'S WORTH! OUR VOTES ARE NOT UP FOR SALE!

(We aren't selling our votes to Bush or Nader. Kerry! Kerry all the way!)

5. Yup. African Americans who speak up are "angry" - women
are "opinionated".

Ok, I get it now.

17. If Tweety went to vote and he was told that he
could not vote because he had been falsely labeled a felon, you can be damn sure he would be angry.

7. Oh geez
is Tweety trying to "Dean" Al? That angry meme again, huh? You know what I always said to that when people would complain to me that Dean seemed angry? I'd say oh honey, he doesn't reflect HALF the anger we really feel. Believe me, you don't want to SEE what kind of anger we REALLY have. It'd scare the shit out of you.

Dean angry? Passionate, yeah. Angry? Sure, why the hell would you NOT be angry at this administration? You have to either have no soul or get off on deficits, preventative wars, death, unemployment and completely irresponsible fiscal policies to not be angry over the last four years.

10. Hey I like Al...
...but I also know that many many professional organizers think it was a dumb move to put him up there....one even going so far as to say it could cost the election. He didn't need to preach to the choir -- we're trying to preach to the independents and moderates.

11. I think he said
what needed BADLY to be said. I'm freaking GLAD someone got up there and said what he said, damnit. It's about time.

We've had a lot of good wonderful proud to be an American, proud to be a Democrat moments, too. Doesn't mean we can't also stick it to bush and co.

He answered some things VERY directly that NEEDED ANSWERING.

Do you think for one second the GOP would just let shit like that slide if the shoe were on the other foot? No freaking way.

We have been quiet far too long, the Reverend was candid, eloquent and powerful. I loved every word he spoke!

14. Well, duh.
If you aren't angry you haven't been paying attention. But, yeah, Tweety and all the other media whores on their knees before the Bush Regime will rant about those angry, negative liberals. Guess we're supposed to just take it, and smile about it.

Not.

15. This is what I want to say to Tweety and all others regarding anger:
Mr. Tweety: You have criticized several Democrats on the basis of their ANGER. Is that ALL you have? Because I'm angry. My husband's angry. My best friend's angry. Her parents are angry. Hell, my NINE YEAR OLD is angry (mostly about all that money she and her generation will be paying back for this sham of a war). My parents are damn angry. My neighbors are angry. I know former bush supporters who are even angrier than I am, if you can believe that.

So WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ANGER?

Is your problem with anger that we might take that anger and lasso it into action? Too late, we already are, dorfwad.

You can take MY anger and the anger of ALL my fellow Americans at what has been done to us and our country and the WORLD and shove it.

23. This is what I don't get
How is this speech going to cost Kerry the election? Is he implying that white independent voters in America are so racist that ANY implication that Democrats support black people is going to turn them off? Black people = Democrats. SHOCKER. Because that's all he was doing -- laying out why black people do and should vote democratic. Sharpton was speaking not just to the convention, not just to republicans, but to the large number of black people that DON'T. VOTE. Sharpton was speaking to a specific segment of the population about a specific segment of the population.

There was an ex-reganite who was saying that it's going to get compared to Buchanan's "cultural war" speech, but that's bushit. It's not even close to being the same thing.

19. Ok, enough of this shit
I'm all for a postive message, but we are angry and we have every reason to be. Maybe we should start shouting it every chance we get. We might love Kerry. I do. I think he's head and shoulders better than anyone I've had the opportunity to vote for in my entire life and I'm 54 years old. But however high an opinion we might have of Kerry, it's dwarfed by the absolute disgrace of this administration and that's why we're united behind beating Bush. Our country, our very nation has been damaged beyond what most of us would have thought possible by these incompetent, opportunistic and ruthless people. What better reason for anger?
