9. No
they are trying to explain why things are "fragmented" and why the media covers one story many different ways, etc.....David Brooks was being interviewed, icky.

or coming to the conclusion that it's a myth and there is no bias?

12. no, different angle
it wasn't about whether "the media" is liberal or conservative as a whole - more along the lines of admitting that many Americans are choosing news sources based on their perception of the political bent of the outlet (ie more Republicans going to Fox News - this was a specific example). And that as competitive as markets have become with so many channels, so many web news outlets, more "news" sources are willing to slant their coverage to get more viewers.

Jon Stewart up now...

17. Thanks
I had to flee another LBN thread where I somehow ended up getting electronically spanked with the Ten Commandments. Funny, but increasingly kinky thread on banning of sex toys in Alabama...

...this was a much more respectable use of my posting time!

20. I just want to know
where is the left slanted news channel. Or even an objective one. I would be very happy with an objective, unbiased channel.

22. well....
now don't shoot the messenger here, because this got a big laugh out of me, but the Nightline voiceover said more Republicans were going to Fox and "more Democrats were going to CNN" for broadcast cable news.

29. CBS seems to be the most left
Dan Rather rarely spins repubs in a positive light. He seems like a Dem at heart.

They are all following along with the WH daily talking point memos. A more appropriate label would be organized.

26. you can say that again....
^ It is clear that there are only two voices in the media: moderate, and right wing. Liberals are always shunned and immediately dismissed. Yet right wing extremists are allowed to proliferate their extremist ideas. Its a reflection of politics in the U.S. (or maybe the other way around), that its so far to the right now that what used to be the left is now moderate and what used to be the right is now right wing extremism. America may be the most far to the right country among the first world countries in the world.

19. Jon Stewart: "This is a battle for the airwaves
and that's very dispiriting for the people at home...."

He is now demonstrating an example of what goes on in "debates" on networks now. It's GOOD!

23. Ted Koppel just said
"my apologies to Al Franken and Sean Hannity, I meant to have them on this program, but because of breaking news, I had to dump them both."

What a way to put it!

And could I HAVE more mixed feelings about that statement? LOL!

He did show a clip of Hannity saying "look I start out with the premise that the media has a liberal bias..."

Yeah I'm sure you do you mo fo Hannity.
