Got another one of those Republicans"Why should I vote for Kerry?"
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 11:03 PM by TrueAmerican
Help:

Got one of those Republicans who isn't voting for Bush, but won't vote for anyone unless us great liberals can convince him to vote for Kerry.

Any suggestion?

1. He has at the very least...
More than two braincells to rub together, which puts him ahead of Stumble Boy by orders of magnitude.

2. Because no one else is going to beat Bush
And if he really doesn't want Bush for another 4 years, the Kerry vote is pretty much the only one that's gonna count.

3. Direct him to
www.johnkerry.com and tell him to click on "Issues" and then read about anything he wants. He can also click on the bio section if he just wants to learn more about the man.

Or you can print some stuff off for him from the kerry site and give it to him to read.

Ask him what issues are important to him.

Also ask him why he isn't voting for bush. That's important to know. Then go from there.

5. That's what I had in mind
Why would he just believe me? Have him do the research himself.

6. Ask him if he's ever heard...
the expression that when you marry someone, you're not just getting your bride/groom - you get their parents, their brothers, their whole family.

He says, "OK, I'm not voting for Bush". You can argue back that by not giving the other side a vote, you're increasing the chance that the Boy Blunder may get back into office.

"Nope.. No way he can"

Fine you say. How do you feel about Rumsfield/Wolfiwitz getting ready to start another war? How about Cheney bleeding the country dry for his buddies companies? Ashcroft slowly wiping away our freedoms and the constitution.

You're helping them stay in power. Maybe you've realized that Shrub is just a figurehead.

You may be willing to take a chance on 4 more years of Shrub.

But how about four more years of Cheney/Rumsfield/Wolfitiz/Ashcroft?

you willing to take THAT chance?

8. Fiscal Responsibility - the alleged 87 Billion "Flip Flop"
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 08:25 AM by emulatorloo
Take the biggest BS Bush claim about Kerry re the 87 billion and show him how Kerry and The Dems sponsored a version of 87 Billion that would have easily been paid for by a little sacrifice from top earners, versus Bush who just tacked it onto the deficit.

Info here:

<snip>

Announcer: And what does Kerry say now?

Kerry: I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it

Kerry was referring to a measure he co-sponsored that would have provided the $87 billion while also temporarily reversing Bush's tax cuts for those making $400,000 a year or more. That measure was rejected  57-42.

9. The Dems have to hammer this point back at them
The Republicans all voted against the 87 billion dollars, too, before they voted for it (with no way to pay for it). They know this attack is bullshit, but they keep hammering at it so that the public believes it.
