There will be no winner on election night
In 2000, Bu$hCo was ready and the Gore team didn't know what hit them. Who could have every imagined that in the USA, someone would plan to steal the presidency? But that's what happened, and for the most part, the Democrats didn't even put up much of a fight. But team Bu$h was ready, they knew they could exploit the flaws in our voting system, in just a few key places, which in the end allowed the courts to decide who was to be president, rather than the American people. This didn't happen by chance or accident. This was carefully planned.

This time it's different. This time we supposedly know better. But for four years, we have been able to do little, to correct the numerous and serious problems with our elections systems. Instead, we let Bu$hCo go ahead and install their magic machines, that are supposed to make everything all better. Except they don't. They are going to make things much, much worse. If you thought we had fun in 2000, just wait for election night 2004 when things fall apart again in not just Florida, but in 10 to 15 other states. If this happens, then once again, there will be no winner on election night. There will chaos and confusion across the country. Once again, we will be heading to the courts for a decision.

This is exactly what Bu$hCo is relying on. This is what they are planning and getting ready for. They want things to be a mess. They know they can not win in a fair and free election, so they are planting the seeds of confusion and doubt again. They want everything to fall apart on election night. They want to put so much doubt into the results of the vote, that even if Kerry eventually wins, he will never be consider a legitimate presdient, by most of the country.

So people get ready, cause Bu$h & Co are going do everything they can to prevent, delay and/or hamstring a Kerry presidency.

DO NOT EXPECT TO KNOW who the winner is on election night, because Bu$hCo is planning to make sure that that's not going to happen. If wouldn't be in their best interest. Or has Papa used to say, 'It wouldn't be prudent'.

3. They are planning for the shit to hit the fan
They want the shit to hit the fan. They don't care if we all kill each other, as long as they don't have to give up their power. And they will do everything and anything to hold on to that power, even if that includes civil war. Why should they care if the USA turns into another Iraq? They will still be in power and that's all that matters.

2. What there WILL be
is a fucking REVOLUTION! We are NOT going to stand by and let them hijack another election. What? All of a sudden, 2 elections in a row, we have a questionable election/outcome? What's the common thread there? THE IDIOT-IN-CHIEF! No way will he get away with that again!

4. As sad as that is...
I believe you're right. They had a plan to undermine the process had the Texas turd actually lost (well he did actually lose) had they not fixed the FLA vote, they also had plans to tie up the results in court for months and even if Gore had been sworn in, they (the repukes) would not have given him the time of day. Watch for it in spades this time around. Also the paid goon squads will be making their whiny little voices heard again and we must meet them wherever they go to tell them their brand of politicking will no longer be tolerated.

5. Another problematic election is clearly a failure of the Bush* admin
no other way to spin it. When Kerry is declared winner they will have to accept it becuase Bush* failed to remedy problems of the past election.

6. I think you give far too much credit to BushCo.
In 2000, you're right, it was a shocker! For the first 2 years or so, the Pubs did a very good job at putting on a good show and no one in the media questioned anything they did. That's no longer true. They've been screwing up royally and getting caught.

I don't think they're as coordinated as you think, and the media is starting to question many things. Even Dan Rather (I think) admitted he and the rest in his profession deserve to be chastized for not asking harder questions before we went to war. I saw this on a panel presentation on c-span last weekend.

There's been far too much publicity about fixed voting, hacked machines, etc. for meaningful fraud to take place.

7. Without a paper trail....
how the hell do we know that they didn't change the votes? There's no way to know. How can we prove that they hacked into the machine and changed the votes?

"There's been far too much publicity about fixed voting, hacked machines, etc. for meaningful fraud to take place."

Just like the lying about Iraq...they knew FULL WELL the consequences of their actions, but the WMD invasion was always a smokescreen from day one. Bush promised to run American "like a business" and that is EXACTLY what they've done; bribery, deceit, lying to the "shareholders" (us), price fixing, etc, etc. They knew that all they had to do was get into Iraq, and everything afterward was going to happen anyway. Look, Cheney got his trillions of dollars in biz for Halliburton, hundreds of Bush's contributors are getting fat contracts to build the new Embassy City in Baghdad, and hundreds more will be awarded cushy posts there as rewards for there loyalty once it is built. Kerry won't stop it. Can't stop it. No one can. And the Bush's knew this...they just had to GET THERE...fuck the rest of us. And the constitution.

The same rules will apply to Bush getting a second term. They don't care who is watching or what they do afterwards...just GET IT, then you have the power to make the rules to KEEP YOU IN. These guys are evil bastards. Don't ever forget it!

10. I think you underestimate their capabilities
These are the kind of people you will stop at nothing, to achieve their goals. And once they finish destroying democracy, it won't matter what we say or do. They no longer care if we approve or disapprove of them. That's why they passed the Patriot Act. They've got it all figured out already.

8. Florida law prohibits paper trails and prevents independent audits...
And no one in that troubled state seems to care enough about this impending fraud to engage the existing legal system to expose it (or perchance prevent it) before it happens.

There is little doubt that Jeb will "deliver" Fla's electoral votes for his brother.

Period...end of story.

We must look to other states to preserve our democracy.

13. Bev Harris update: Kerry endorses the wrong solution?
Received this as part of a newsletter from my local verified voting group. It is a wrap up of Bev and Andy's investigations. This really caught my attention:

<snip>
John Kerry has been floating some trial balloons about electronic verification as a viable alternative. One Diebold document mentions "the political solution" and we had a report that a political figure, three scientists and a handful of reporters were going to get on the electronic verification bandwagon. We contacted the three scientists listed in a handwritten Diebold/VoteHere memo and they indicate they are not on board, though some do qualify this statement.

We would urge you, if you want paper ballots, to begin applying political pressure as you see fit in order to avert cryptography (a "paper trail") replacing voter verified paper ballots ("paper BALLOTS").

From our standpoint, using cryptography is not acceptable either from an auditing standpoint or from a public policy standpoint. Cryptography will not make our elections more transparent, inspectable or accessible. It puts control of elections into the hands of a few computer people and everyone else must simply trust them to get it right.

VoteHere is now also making moves into encryption software for voter registration.
