No one wants to say it but Carter gave the best, substantive speech of
the convention so far. Clinton was next. Obama was next. and Sharpton was next. I am sorry, Edwards was diappointing to me...he was too hyped and tried too hard. His message was good but his delivery needs help. I hope that Bill can give him some pointers. He needs to relax and speak as though he is having a conversation with one or two people..not screaming at a mob.

1. I liked Edwards - - and everyone else
It is such a relief to hear people talk about hope and optimism and America becoming a Beacon of Hope again. I'm lovin it.

And wasn't Sharpton good?

We have had such a dark last 4 years.

2. I think Carter set the tone for the Convention....
After all the talk about "Bush bashing" and whether or not the Dems would have the "cajones" to address Bush's weaknesses, Carter showed the way to do it, without seeming to be overly personal in the attacks. He was brutally and honestly civil.

4. Agreed. . .
JC kicked ass and he did it in a totally dignified, refined, and substantive way.

3. I thought Clinton was tops in delivery and then if
speaking about substance I would rank Sharpton's the best (it was really quite good, I read the text rather than listened), and Carter's next.

9. Really no one can deliver like Clinton but Carter said what others would
not. And he speaks from a position of real authority. He has travelled the world and know first hand of which he speaks.

5. Carter was awesome!
He knows his stuff cold and he stood by his guns in ithe interview afterward too. He's more of an intellectual and less of a fiery speaker. We need both.

6. I agree that Carter was really the best so far
But I liked them all. I just want our side to win.

7. No I think Obama's speech was of historical greatness.
Then Clinton, then Kucinich, Sharpton, Kennedy, Carter, Gore, Edwards, Hienz-Kerry.

In rakning them that way, please remember that I don't think there was a BAD speech yet. I do however feel that Obama's speech was something special.

8. Carter was excellent!
with such a wide, talented group of speakers it's hard to pick a best. but for substance and statemanship, Carter scored big... and probably had the best single line: We Cannot Lead If Our Leaders Mislead. THAT set the tone for virtually all the other speeches.
