Why does anyone watch the talking heads news shows?
I understand about occasionally catching something of importance, but it seems that those who detest them watch as much as those who probably kiss their tv sets when they come on.

I don't watch any of them, ever, for any reason. They are paid based upon popularity, and I refuse to have my tv set tuned to them. There is nothing to miss by not watching other than slanting of news stories and outright lies. Why waste the time?

My morning rant.

1. Because we've got to reach the undecideds to win this
and the undecideds are in all likelihood, getting their news from these talking heads. We watch so we can hold them accountable and raise hell when they skew the news.

3. But no matter the level or number of complaints
nothing changes. I don't think it is necessary to watch these liars and creeps. I can pass along information I learn from other, more reputable sources just as easily.

2. I think it's important to know the lies that are being fed to ...
unwitting voters. Don't you?

4. Not really
It has become such a huge waste of time to refute the seemingly limitless number of lies spewing out of their mouths that it, to me, doesn't seem worth it.

I do, however, enjoy at times reading about their lies on DU and other sources!

(go ahead, call me a hypocrite, but my point is that I can't take hearing or seeing any of them. The written word is much easier on my blood pressure.)

:)

6. Agree
If you stick your head in the sand and don't know their agenda, you wake up one morning with an intellectually-challenged, religious right-wing nutjob in the White House. We cannot counter their agenda if we don't know what it is. Like it or not, the opinion-journalists and talking heads influence general thought...be informed about their opinions, prejudices and be ready to offer alternative opinions.

I finally gave up.

No TV on now. I'm listening to Sirius Left instead.
