What do you expect from General Wes Clark's speech tonight ??
He has been known to stick it to Bush pretty good... Will he talk mostly about security issues and how Bush has screwed it up or will he also talk about economy and other issues? He has a way of cutting thru the bullshit and is very intelligent. I am looking forward to his speech.

1. What time is it?
And I expect it to be awesome, like all his speeches. Mostly security stuff I bet.. probably trumping up JFK's military service etc.

No specific time for Clark yet -- just slated for the 7-9 pm section (closer to 9 pm it looks like)

2. I hope the General focuses on military and security issues
and slams the repubs on their treatment of our soldiers and veterans, the mess in the middle east, the torture of prisoners, the joke that is homeland security, etc.

I'm looking forward to his speech. Which reminds me, I have to go look up what time he's on!

3. Does Clark speaking on the big night
mean Kerry has a big job waiting for him in January??

I wanted him for VP, but State would be good too.

9. He can't be SecDef b/c he hasn't been out of
the military for ten years, and State's the next
biggest plum.

Oh, and welcome to DU!!

10. Thanks, kaity! I've heard the Sec'y of State role
is more substantial than that of vice-president. Clark would do a heck of a lot better job than Colin Powell.

::toast to kaity!::

6. I dont know

But right after he will be bashed as anti-American and talking heads will question the legitimacy of his stars and suggest he didn't really gradudate #1 from West Point.

11. He's always defended Michael Moore
I supported him in the primaries and I think he would be an excellent choice for Secretary of State.
