Hey kids, whose up for some good ol' hippy protesting?
The protests at the DNC have kind of been a flop. That's good. What if we really gave them hell in New York? Just like we did back in the day. Who's up for that? :hippie:

1. Be with ya in spirit
if not in body. And remember, when apples are outlawed, only outlaws will have apples!

2. It's needed
Honestly, I've been scratching my head for the past three years wondering where the outrage is. What happened to the spirit of the 60's? Question authority? Speak your opinion? Let your voice be heard? And I live in the Bay Area of California! You'd think if there was going to be protest anywhere, it would be here. Depressing...

I try but it's tough to get by the apathy...

(Unfortunately, I'll be stuck in Texas.)

6. heyyyy now
my picture on the gallery only makes my hips look big. On a side note I'm hoping to go to NY and do some old skool protestin' if the airlines don't impose a hip ban.

5. I suspect there will be no way to avoid it
Here's a possible scenario:

Inside the cavernous hall, a vast emptiness filled with all the balloons and redwhiteandblue bunting they could import from Taiwan.
A convention that smells like an aging diva's swan song.

On the streets, drummers chanting, millions marching, toppling Bush.
This is what Democracy looks like!

7. I know it's too late to stop any protests in NYC....but....
I've always thought that it would be better, rather then give them ammunition by protesting in NY- we should hold protests outside Haliburton's Headquarters during the GOP convention. When protestors hit NY they will whine that we are soiling the memories of those killed on 9/11- haliburton would put things in perspective.

12. Non-violent protest.
Hot-heads would give them ammunition.

I'm on the other side of the country, so I won't be there.
