Who knows what was in the bill that John Kerry voted against?
The one where the repugs are constantly throwing at us that John Kerry voted against the $87 billion that would have helped our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq??? I thought I heard last year that most of that money was to rebuild Iraq--like only 10 billion would help the troops. Who knows about that? And who knows where I can go online to find the bills that these people keep reminding the public about, which I know there must be lots more to them than Bush's hinchmen want us to know.

1. he voted against GIVING away the money
he wanted it to take the form of a loan.

or better put: he wanted the debt for stabilizing Iraq to belong to Iraq, not to our grandchildren.

but to hear the cowardly, lazy talking heads on CNN put it, he was just "against body armor."

4. I believe Olympia Snowe and John McCain also wanted it to be a loan
In fact, wasn't that when * called the Senators into his office and scared the crap out of them when he started pounding in fury on his desk to get his way?

2. Voted against - tacking it onto the deficit/ Voted for - paying for it w
temp tax hike on people making 400,000 or better

Kerry and The Dems sponsored a version of 87 Billion that would have easily been paid for by a little sacrifice from top earners, versus Bush who just tacked it onto the deficit.

Info here:

<snip>

Announcer: And what does Kerry say now?

Kerry: I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it

Kerry was referring to a measure he co-sponsored that would have provided the $87 billion while also temporarily reversing Bush's tax cuts for those making $400,000 a year or more. That measure was rejected  57-42.
