'Penny For Your Thoughts' Time: How Are You Feeling About Tonight ???
Just wondering if anybody else has the same mixture of excitement and anxiety that I do. Not trying to blow tonight all out of proportion as some in the media have done, yet I'm so giddy with anticipation, mixed with a dash of dread, that I'm almost nauseous.

I think Kerry is gonna do just fine, but there's that pesky 'unknown' factor that keeps me havin to run to the bathroom, LOL!!!

So I'm gonna start with a Martini now, and hope that that is the only thing that will make me sick to my stomach tonight.

Here's to John, John, the Democratic Party, all of us here, the country, and to the demise of the Bushistas!!!

Long Live Democracy!!!

1. I think he will do a fine job
I have not been his biggest supporter. He is the candidate of my party however, and a decent, competent man. He knows what he needs to do tonight and I am sure he will be up to the task.

2. worried.
Kerry needs to come out swinging, hard. Not against Bush, but for the party. He needs to outline some MAJOR changes to the current path that everyone can agree with.

3. Exactly - Nerves & Excitement
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 05:14 PM by hatrack
So I'm going to a Dem. event in my town (we don't have a TV at home) and am probably going to have to have at least a couple of beers in the course of the evening.

Whatever happens (and I think Kerry's going to do fine), it's going to be nerve-wracking!! I wish us all luck tonight! :toast:

4. I'm dead serious about this
I truly believe that if Kerry doesn't become President, the Idiot in the WH will lead us into nuclear war. The killing of thousands will escalate to millions. This is our last chance not only to take back our country but to save the world.

12. I can't believe it. You sound exactly like me.. LOL
I don't know what that pesky factor is either...but I got the same sort of up/down thing going on too. Maybe I'd better lay off the coffee for the rest of the evening.

I've really enjoyed this convention; it's infused me with hope that we CAN be a better society. I like that so many ideas were ALLOWED to be put forth...not that all ideals will get addressed after the election...maybe that's it!! Whatever. I'm enjoying this for now and hoping for the best. We just keep fighting for our party or our causes no matter who rules.

Right now it's about getting that Criminal bunch out of our White House!!

So for now: KEEP HOPE ALIVE.......TIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF, BABY!!

16. Very confident in Kerry
He'll do well. I think his speech is a little too long, but he's got a lot of ground to cover. That will give the right wing media whores plenty of chances to tell everyone how "uninspired", "stiff", "wonkish", and "uncomfortable" Kerry was.

I'm not worried in the least about it. Sit back and enjoy!

17. The press has set the bar so high for Kerry,
they will criticize him for not reaching it. However when Bush speaks and remembers his name he is "way above expectations". Worried!

19. I'm gonna get high right before the speech
Cause if I don't the anxiety will make it impossible to watch.

I'm so nervous! Not so much about Kerry's performance but about the reaction of the much revered (and in my case, reviled) "swing voter"...
