Potential problem: Source of the Kerry family fortune? |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 07:24 PM by jmowreader
Kerry and Bush both come from old money.
We know the Bush fortune comes from two sources: bankrolling dictators to include Hitler, and selling little old ladies used cars with cracked blocks.
If the Kerry fortune is anything even slightly comparable, we're gonna hear about it.
What is the source of the Kerrys' money? (No one say ketchup--that's where Teresa's money comes from; John Kerry had money long before he married her.)
On edit: Added question mark.

but I don't really care.
To me, I don't care so much how someone came about having their money, especially when it comes from generations back and they didn't have much to do with the making of it.
What I care MORE about is what they do with their money NOW. To me, that says a lot about a person.
And from what I can see, that means my vote is still with Kerry.
This talking point about money is so moot. They both have money. End of story. No bush supporter can make a big deal out of Kerry's money, period.
Edited to add, I think Kerry didn't come from old money...I read a maiden aunt paid for his prep school education because his parents couldn't afford it. (Dallas Morning News) Also, Kerry married money. Like George Washington and others. LOL!

4. Well, we've been ranting about Bush's money for so long |
|
that if there's anything flaky in Kerry's fiscal past, the GOP will be on it like white on rice.

6. Why not do a simple search before you post with such alarm? |

You should get a job with Drudge. Your headline implies there's a problem when in fact you have no information at all.

7. Sorry, you're WRONG. Kerry's family came from the poorer side. |
|
He didn't grow up with much money in his family although he grew up AROUND relatives who did have it. His college education came courtesy of an aunt with no children of her own.
Much later his mother inherited some money.
BTW...Kerry's mother was one of 11 and they lost their home in France when the Nazis stole it and then burned it. His grandfather on his father's side was Jewish. Have fun trying to link them to Hitler's money like the Bush family.

8. It's not how the money |
|
they inherited was made; it's how they lived their lives because of it.
For example, the Kennedys. Old Joe Kennedy made his fortune in bootleg whiskey. His children who chose political careers work in those careers (and still are) to help the poor and disadvantaged; as opposed to the Bush boys, who are con artists out to get all they can off the backs of the taxpayers.
