Complaining because he didn't use Clinton's name, or Carter's name or Roosevelt's name. Mad because he named mostly Republicans. He gave them nothing NOTHING, nada, zilch and they don't know what to friggin say so they sound stupid, especially the MSNBC gang and CNN is not far behind.

2. All they can complain about is how "fast" the speech was. . .
that tells me right there they can't find a single fault with the substance of the speech! Media Whores--the whole lot of 'em!

3. Not only that
but he didn't plod through a speech and run 20 minutes over so they could call him boring and bland. He sideswiped 'em, and they're pissed.

10. I agree. The couldn't say he droned ( their favorite word ) on.
He does sound better when he talks faster because he doesn't get sing-songey. I think he sounded great.

4. They are bitching because he didn't stop enough for applause.
If that's the best slam that they can come up with, John did his job well tonight.

Let America Be America Again.

12. have to say......I noticed right away that he kept stepping on
the applause

how many times did he repeat himself after applause, as many as FOUR times

Sam Seder is saying the same thing as I type

he swayed too much at the podium, and I thought he overgestured, as well.

that said, I was VERY much surprised, and PLEASED, at how well he did, just from a performance standpoint

Eric Alterman is also saying the same thing, from his perspective as a PHD in American history, prefacing his remarks by saying what an important speech, what an important MOMENT this is

I have in the past turned him off whenever he started speaking, as I don't usually like his delivery, the emphasis on diaphramgmatic, faux baritone projection, combined with his characteristic wordiness.
I've alwasy found it difficult to listen to him. Tonight, he was almost like a different person: brief, punctuated, to the point, and NOT offputting.

Can't say how pleasant the surprise for me was.

Feeling much much better about all this now

GO KERRY!

and can you not WAIT to see the Bushtwins? Russert said they'd be STUDYING Kerry's daughers' appearance, and predicted they'll be speaking, too.

God, I hope so.

have you EVER heard them say word ONE?

9. He used Roosevelt's
I forget what he said, but I know he used Roosevelt's name. "What if" is a Bobby Kennedy quote, we know it even if the stupid newsmodels don't. This is great, they've got NOTHING!! Way to go Kerry!!
