Kerry is a better candidate and more electable. I was completely wrong. I like Dean, I agree with him, but Kerry/Edwards is a terrific team. Are you all happy now?!? :)

2. I couldn't decide then, and I still can't decide now
I still believe Dean had every bit as much potential as Kerry, and I would have been equally enthusiastic about that ticket as I am about this one.

7. Dean would make a great senator, but Kerry is ready for this
I have moved from the "don't really like" to "completely on board" with Kerry, so he must be doing something right for people like me. I love Edwards, I'm infatuated with Teresa, I want to have coffee with Elizabeth. It's a great team.

you. Wes WILL be part of this administration, but John Kerry, "Massachusetts liberal" and all, is awesome. I am now 100% behind Kerry and EXCITED about it.

9. I always planned to vote for Kerry, but now I'm going to work for him
I'm no longer ABB--I really think the Kerry/Edwards team will be great for the country. And I think the things Dean stands for will have a much better chance.

8. Dean's service to his country is not over.
You'll see him again.

And a lot of us finally relaxed tonight.

Out of a wonderful slate, we chose great candidates. We're good.

10. Kerry and Edwards are a terrific team
I still think Dean would have more credibility on the war which is what everybody is talking about as the main issue of this campaign than the ticket which voted for the war authorization. But that is neither here nor there, we got our team and I support them, but I will not apologize for my support for another candidate. That said, I think Kerry did a superb job and has the potential to being a great president.

12. Hey without Dean alot of this energy wouldn't have been built up
Kerry was my choice from day one, but Dean is a great guy and the man who took the first step in saying "hey somethin's not right and I'm not takin this crap anymore!"

13. We'll never know that for sure
This is all a process. Dean could have also been honed to give a great speech. I still love him and we would NEVER have been in a position to criticize the BoyKing without Dean breaking the ice.

However, Kerry gave a great speech. I was very much impressed.

19. Kerry is a fine candidate. But you have missed the point entirely.
Democracy for America currently has 800 candidates running for positions in government. This is not some kind of nutjob campaign.

It is about real democracy, not just one or two candidates. Don't forget Howard Dean. He is an American hero who is in this process for the long term, a guy who woke up democracy in America and motivated many people to become involved in the process.
Like Alexander Hamilton (at this point), he has influenced our country to an unbelievable extent.

I could argue with you all night about how giving the media more ammunition is not a good thing, about how pandering to fear and military is not a good thing, etc., but the only thing I can say at this point is that almost every campaign has emulated Dean's, and that's for a reason.

Dean has said that at least we don't nominate candidates via cigar-smoking guys in back rooms, but the reality is that it's still not too far from that. The democracy part of our democratic republic is still fairly thin. There are still cigar-smoking guys in back rooms; don't be fooled into thinking otherwise. They are still there, and they are still strong, though they're not as strong as they used to be.

This doesn't bode well for the women in our country. Teresa HK is a remarkable candidate for first lady, but the guys with the financial ties are still running the show.
