9. Don't be. This is a good thing. |
|
If Cincinnatians -- in the most Republican region of Ohio -- are blown away by Kerry, Ohio has a very good chance of doing the Big Blue Shift this November 2.

This is the single most insane piece of programming I have ever seen and I have seen it all.
Frank Luntz looks CRAZED.
What is up with this dudes hair?
I LOVE THESE GRAPHS.
It's like CPR readings.
Listen, I'm telling you this.
We are officially, certifiably, totally diving head first into the abyss.
Our government as entertainment.
Chris Matthews must be GOD.
He thunders from the mountain high.

14. And he looked SERIOUSLY taken aback by that. |
|
He was VERY, VERY sober throughout the segment. The smug cockiness last night was ALL GONE. BYE-BYE. He looks a little worried. Not even a hint of a smile from him. Not once. I think he's realizing that it's gonna be a LOT harder for bush this time than he expected. He was VERY struck by the fact that people had actively switched from being undecided or maybe voting AGAINST bush, to voting FOR Kerry. He knows his team's in trouble.

I follow government/policy/politics like some guys follow sports. The difference is, my game actually matters.

With lines about (paraphrase here from me):
- not going to war because we want to, only going to war because we have to - discussion of his military service and the bond with his fellow soldiers (one response on why she liked it: "he walked the walk.") - lessening our dependence on Mid East oil by ingenuity and innovation (alt energy)
That's what I got. I was expecting Luntz' head to spin, but he hid it well. ;-)

He sure wasn't shilling the way he normally does. He even corrected a girl who tried to say Kerry flat out said Bush was a liar...I almost fell over on that one. He told her "that's not what he said."
Strange.

10. Did you hear Tweety's analysis? He said everyone knows that we |
|
went to war for oil. We aren't fighting against bad guys in Africa. He said that oil and our insane interest in the ME is a big factor!
Tweety said that, I promise my chin :wow: dropped.
Tweety is tweeked!

15. No, you would actually have enjoyed watching MSNBC tonight. |
|
They are knocked off balance. SERIOUSLY. They're realizing that maybe Kerry's just getting warmed up or something. That they've seriously misunderestimated him. Luntz was sober, Howard Fineman was sober, Matthews was actually saying positive things, Andrea Mitchell, too. And POOR Joe Scarborough. He knew he couldn't bring himself to say anything positive. And he was left with NOTHING to say. He didn't have ANYTHING to snipe at - except for Kerry maybe delivering the speech too rapidly. That's ALL he could complain about. The ONLY potshot he could take - Kerry went too fast. JEEZ! Pathetic. Luntz was VERY revealing. His sphincter muscle is tight, tonight. He's concerned. He may even be a little worried. He's CERTAINLY off his smug high horse tonight. And last night, he was acting as though he had it ALL covered. Kerry threw 'em completely off their game.
