Will you be watching the RNC convention coverage?
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 12:20 AM by lpbk2713
I will, just for laughs. It will be funny to see their feeble attempts at equalling the DNC convention. I will also try to conatin myself as they try to legitimize the last four years of ineptitude and outright criminality. It should be interesting to see how many of them can speak with a straight face. And lastly, I want to see that great orator, Shit-for-Brains, fall all over himself as he lies, distorts and mangles the English language.

19. You remind me of what a friend said back in January 2001,

when conversation turned to the upcoming inauguration of the newly selected resident. Someone made a comment about the Texans who would be attending inaugural balls, what would be worn, etc., and my friend, a Georgia native sounding a bit like Ann Richards, drawled, "I'll bet there's not a sequin left in Texas."

8. Yes, I will watch
Mainly because I think both parties should have thier say. Yes, there will be entertainment value, but I also want to be able to counter repugs in discussions. Can't just stand there and say "Well, I didn't watch it." like I hear so many repugs do. I want to know what they are saying.

10. I will too....
I want to see who their speakers are going to be, and will be looking for their inspirational speakers. I don't think they even stack up with the Dems as far as political speakers who get their message across well. Of course, they facts don't exactly fall in their favor.

Also I want to see if Fox is going to cover it. If so, they definetly make their political propaganda machine shine.

14. I can't wait
I am so curious about how they're going to respond to this. I think the Dems really boxed them in with the unity theme, and Kerry's speech especially seemed to dare the Bush people to attack him. The Dems have taken the high road, which is usually difficult terrain for this president. All he's been doing is attack, attack, attack, and that's going to look awful now when compared to what the Dems pulled off this past week.

The question is: what's the alternative? Bush has no record to run on. He can spin the data anyway he wants, but Kerry's whole point is that we can do better.

It seems the Dems have neutralized every approach the Reps could take. I'm just really, really curious to see how they respond.

15. My family probably won't let me.
They will get all worried about my blood pressure and all my yelling.

They already have asked me to stop my LTTE war with a local fundy wingnut who is a homophobe. (Was that redundant)?

18. Hmm...I would disagree...
You must make the point to listen to both sides. You need to justify the reasons you believe what you believe and you can't have that listening to just one side...I think it would be a shame if you chose not to watch as I will...

Every single media outlet will be talking about how refined and sophisticated the RNC is compared to the planned and cued DNC (there's a difference), they'll be talking about how "true Americans are watching it to see what their president has to say, and why he deserves RE-election (when we all know he was not even elected in the first place - the rat fuck), the media will go on and on and ON and ON AND ON AND ON AND ON about how civil the RNC is, and how courteaus and "DOWNHOME" the delegates are, and how they love the light touches of Laura (some number that escapes me years ago ran some fucker over and killed him dead, oh, her boyfriend, due to well-beyond doses of Xanax) Bush's design motifs. How the place looks so classy with pea-green wallpaper against baby-shit green highlights.

They'll just LOVE Jenna when she tries out her new digs in Harlem and puts away shots like Dick Cheney in a Turkey Shoot.

Yeah. I'll be watching.

22. Yeah
Sun Tzu:

"Know thy enemy as you know thyself and you shall not be afraid of the outcome of a thousand battles. If you do not know thy enemy but you know thyself then you shall win one and lose one. If you do not know thy enemy and you do not know thyself then every endeavor you undertake shall be fraught with peril."

That and watching Bush and Cheney and Co try to refute what was said at the convetion speeches will make it all worth it!

23. I will.
It's going to be painful, but I will. I can C-span my way through it. Heck, it HAS to be good for laughs at the very least.

Seriously, I do want to know what they have to say. If only to be prepared for the dumb things I'm going to hear from the 'right' side of my family/friends. I can smell the email bombardment from here.
