Why didn't y'all TELL me there is a Homosexual Wing in Democratic Party?!
I have to learn it from "America's Newspaper," the Washington Times!

Frank touts 'gay agenda'

By Cheryl Wetzstein
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

BOSTON — Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank told a cheering Democratic National Convention last night that same-sex "marriage" is a primary goal of the homosexual wing of the Democratic Party.

There is a "gay agenda," and it includes equal access to the military, jobs and schools without fear of being persecuted for being homosexual, he said.

"And we even believe that when two people are in love — and they are willing to be morally and legally committed to each other, and financially responsible for each other — that if they are prepared to get married, it's a good thing for the stability for society," Mr. Frank declared as the enthusiastic audience waved placards for the National Stonewall Democrats, the grass-roots group that represents homosexual, bisexual and transgender Democrats.

emphasis added

~snip~

Moreover, I didn't know that Stonewall Democrats was the only group that represents us.

Why aren't all you queer DUers helping me keep up with this vital information?!

By the way, I have never read an article about marriage equality in the Times that did not put the word marriage in quotes every time it's used to refer to gay marriage.

The people at the Washington Times are a bunch of willfully ignorant bigoted, hateful assholes. And you can tell them that I said that.

2. Frank
"Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank told a cheering Democratic National Convention last night that same-sex "marriage" is a primary goal of the homosexual wing of the Democratic Party. "

What?

I highly doubt this...particularly since Frank has said he doesn't support a drive for gay marriage right now.

Like I should expect the WT to be logical...

and I think Barney Frank did say exactly that

ok sorry I tried to edit this once before:

what I'm saying in my post is that the quote attributed to Barney is accurate. - not interpretation of the paper - sorry I should have made that clear

http://cpan.org

Look for convention coverage day four part one go to about 2:11 Barney is on after Mo Udall son shortly after 2hours and 11 minutes.

Not a separate speech on cpan or on the DNC site that I can find

Ok I'm listening now and he did say the Stonewall Democrats is the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender wing of the Dem party -

and he did say

"And we even believe that when two people are in love — and they are willing to be morally and legally committed to each other, and financially responsible for each other — that if they are prepared to get married, it's a good thing for the stability for society,"

17. my god -- The Wa. Times took a perfectly reasonable, logical
quote -- something no one in his right mind could object to -- and printed it verbatim?

I may faint.

Thanks a bunch.

5. You should have watched the PBS or CSPAN coverage to find out then.
you can go to http://www.dems2004.org/ and watch/hear all of the speeches for yourself.

Also http://www.cspan.org/ has archives of the convention so you can experience Frank's speech (which was awesome BTW) and many other great things!

9. Funny. Thanks, but no thanks.
The last thing we need is to be considered on a par with Log Cabin Republicans. :)

11. It's never wise to mimic Republicans.
It leads to brain damage. And, in the case of the Log Cabin Republicans, it leads to voting for a candidate who views you as an abomination and won't even meet with you.

Now that I think of it, I guess those two effects go hand in hand.

It's cool. I've got a pretty good toaster already.

Two different sizes of bras in the house = okay.

Two or more toasters = abomination!
