Bush* killed frogs - and JK saves family pet?
I loved the "save the hamster" story that Alex Kerry told last night. (Her father saved the family pet from drowning, and this meant the world to is little kids).

I read somewhere about bush* blowing up frogs for fun - does anyone have a reference for that? I'd love to make some new slogan about animal killer vs. animal rescuer.

1. I have it in a book
at home that has biographies of all the presidents, their cabinet, etc. Granted Bush blew up these frogs for fun as a kid but still thats messed up, Kerry seems to appreciate nature much, and that hamster story was just heh touching.

4. I have exactly the same values today I had as a twelve year old.
That age arguement just doesn't fly with me. I believe you really do learn everything you need to know in Kindergarten.

5. Right.
Blowing up frogs says a lot about the values he was taught as a child.

6. i agree, added that to my children too
and since both are boys talked about the thought of doing this to animal and the doing to animal. then i got to hear the boys they know who have done these kinda things, being mean to animal. was an interesting half hour of reflection and abuse to animals with boys

12. Me either
I agree, about that age I shot a bird with a pellet gun and stood over it feeling like the lowest asshole that was ever born. The classic tale. If you don't feel it it's just not there in your heart. Maybe you're trainable to behave morally but if it's not obvious then you're just a natural born low life.

Kerry said his mom taught him to respect nature
So, from his start, he had an affinity for it. And he was a cub scout, too. She was also his cub scout den mother.

8. Don't forget the DOG DROPPING!!!!! Schmuck couldn't even hold onto
his own dog properly. Little leaguers in the photo with him were visibly horrified. It's just a little thing (like a hamster, funny enough), but it's a metaphor for something FAR larger. Hamsters RULE! We have one. In fact, I was playing with her and letting her crawl all over my arms and shoulders - ALL THE WHILE I was watching Kerry's speech last night. Lucy's cage was being cleaned at the time.
