2. Wow, that anti-depressent story is a bit scary
It sounds more like bi-polar disorder than depression though.

What really concerns me is that the adjustment period to even mild anti-depressents can be difficult (I know from experience). Talking about really strong ones with Ashcroft as his only confidante is truly truly frightening.

3. Reading some of the other stories on that website you
posted links to about Bush's short fuse and medicated condition, it seems to me he is no longer able to discharge his duties and should be removed from office according to the Constitution. Shouldn't we be writing our senators about this? He's already proved he's a loose cannon with this pre-emptive war in Iraq. He needs to be made gone ASAP before he launches a nuke or something.

congresspeople. YES, YES, YES.

Pay no attention to the calendar, or the notion that they're on vacation so nothin' doin'. That's baloney. Their staffs are still on-staff. In fact, it might be rawther juicy to call their local offices. But you can still use the TOLL FREE Capitol Hill Switchboard number (see my sig line here) and register your opinion. Calling is good. Faxing is good. Writing a regular, conventional (pardon the pun) paper letter is even better. Email is good, too, but not as good as the hard, tangible, there-in-black-and-white-for-all-to-see letter.

Please see Activism/Events for the Five Star Contact Info that's as freshly updated as possible. There's also www.congress.org for a great catch-all directory for everybody, both in Washington and at their local offices. Also in that same thread are some guidelines, recommendations, and other urgings, for writing to Congress without triggering any anthrax alerts.

Reason is: when they recessed, they left PLENTY unfinished, like the rest of the Senate Intel Committee hearings, to cite only one example. Many of them expressed uneasiness about leaving now, when so many participles remained dangling. BELIEVE IT - they're keeping tabs on what's coming in, in the office. They won't be far astray from it. And these issues REMAIN urgent, whether Congress is on vacation or not.

DON'T GIVE UP!!! (Unless, of course, you don't mind if THEY do...)

4. This is really huge because it is a great talking point to
fundies who worship reagun.. When reagun's widow says the bushco have "divided America".

And this from reagun's son.."Reagan’s son, Ron, spoke at the just-concluded Democratic National Convention and writes in next month’s Esquire magazine that “George W. Bush and his administration have taken normal mendacity to a startling new level far beyond lies of convenience. They traffic in big lies.”

There might have been a fallout out between the Bu$h's and the Regans awhile back. I don't think they are too chummy with each other....
