My conversation with the RNC |
|
This is kinda long so stay with me.
The phone rang today about 4 p.m. est. The caller ID said unavailable but I answered it anyway. On the other end: A young lady calling from the RNC. She said she was taking a random survey. She asked me on a scale of 1-5, how important is it to "re-elect" Shrub.
I asked what the lowest was and she said 1 and I said 1. She said: "Our you serious?" I said: "Yes, he is the worst president we ever had"
She then asked if I watched the DNC and Kerry's speech. Duh, I did. She then said well doesn't Kerry "flip flop". I'm like only if you listen to the Repukes then he does. She then said we'll listen more closely when Kerry speaks and you'll hear if "flip flop". My reply: At least my candidate can speak. She said: Well, you got me on that one.
She then asked why I liked Kerry. I said because he stands up for the issues and VALUES I beleive in. I said like education, the environment, health care, gay rights, the middle class. And Kerry won't be a president that misleads the nation.
She then said. Well let me give you an issue that Shrub is strong on. She said: He's pro-life.
I said: Well, I believe in the power of choice and the power of freedom and if pro-life is the biggest issue you can say about your candidate then your candidate has a lot to be desired.
She then thanked me for my time and hung up. Looking back I wish I was more harsh towards Shrub but I think she got the point.
Thanks for letting me share.

6. She was not kidding with that line |
|
I started to laugh when she said it. She could barely speak herself, at first I thought it was a joke.
It took her like four times to say my last night and she started laughing, which is why I tought it was a joke, she butchered my last name and I of course I had to correct her.
I want to get surveyed again. IT was real cool.

You had good answers. I wouldn't have been able to think up good ones that fast....but on thinking about it, I'd love to have a Repuke talk about 'pro-life'. I'd say Bush isn't, because of all the people he's allowed to be killed in Iraq. And I'd ask if they think life continues after birth, or if only the unborn should be protected.

3. That was fairly polite... |
|
... I probably would have started with "small, mean-spirited, conniving, lying little bastard" and worked up from there.... :P

4. It's best to be gracious about these things. |
|
Good for you! I would have said right off the bat that I detested Bush, and little good that would have done. Besides, it sounds like the lady was cordial enough. Perhaps she won't put your survey through the shredder.

I'm in Connecticut. I'm surprised they called.
But my friend who was a former tele-marketer, said sometimes the numbers are randomly selected and the person doesn't even know what state they're calling.
