Did repug Gov Bill Owens unwittingly suggest LIHOP/MIHOP on Bill Maher?

He said a couple of times that there was no need for bush to do anything because they knew what was happening, and going to happen. I know he didn't mean to say that, but it came out that way. I'd like to see the transcript.

And if he really does think that there wasn't a reason for bush to be concerned and take action when Card spoke to him, I would like to hear Owens' explanation as to how the headquarters of the greatest military power the world has ever known was successfully hit by a bunch of horizontal-flying nitwits half an hour after we had things under control. The military has probably received $5 trillion dollars since the end of the Cold War, and yet they couldn't even defend their own headquarters almost an hour after they knew the nation was under attack? I'd like a refund on my taxes for all the money I've sent to the Department of "Defense"--the first time we actually needed them to defend us from an attack they failed.

1. Regarding "we knew what was happening"...

he's just making shit up. Why was Cheney was ordering shoot downs? Why did the government react so inefficiently? Why was Bush was flying around in circles all day afraid of further phantom attacks?

Even if they had an inkling of what was going on, they had a duty to find out more and ASAP.

Assuming he did know everything that was going on, then in his position as commander in chief he was under an EXTREME duty to ACT on this unusual knowledge. He was elected to lead, not meditate on knowledge while the nation was under sneak attack.

He lacks common sense in an emergency.

If that had been Clinton, Republicans would have drawn up articles of impeachment before the dust had settled at the WTC site. And they would have been right to do that, too.

3. I picked up on that as well...

I don't recall exactly what he said, but it was something in the order of...He didn't respond because we were already taking care of it...something like that, which was quite telling and Owens quickly tried to explain himself. In a nutshell, Dick Cheney was running the operation while SFB performed a duty more appropriate to his skill level, the reading of MY PET GOAT with a bunch of third graders!!!
