Rep. Drier really did storm off the stage during "Real Time"!
I was reading Maher's official message board, and this is from someone in the audience:

http://boards.billmaher.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=newshow&Number=492434&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Tonight's REAL TIME was a great experience, especially being in the studio audience. I'd never been at a LIVE tv show, and the audience, by now knowing that Michael Moore was a guest, was fully in the zone. Upon watching the 11PM tape-delay here in L.A., this was more than apparent. The audience, as Bill mentioned in the top of the show, was transfixed by Moore's "ROCK STAR" presence, and, therefore, we ate up everything he said. This was no more apparent than during Moore's silly "What if this building was under attack?" exchange with Dave Dreir.

Dave Dreir did, in fact, storm offstage during "New Rules," and, I think specifically during the "thumb gesturing" gag that Bill pulled....Dreir did his own share of thumbnastics during the show, and it must have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

2. Drier was RIGHTEOUSLY trounced, stomped, stripped, flayed,
packaged and frozen before they kicked that red meat off the stage, no doubt.

Best RW takedown EVER!

3. Well, Michael Moore said it all....
He told Dreire, at one point, during the argument, "hey you're not talking to a wimpy Democrat now" and went on to say something about Democrats not being wimpy ANY LONGER!

One of MM's greatest contributions, other than the movie that opened our eyes, is that he demonstrated unapologetic BACKBONE...he has become a role-model for strong, out-spoken, unafraid Democrats! We owe him an immeasureable debt. As one lone man, he has hugely helped turn America around...my God, who can say he has done that? He is my hero.

14. The ONLY way to beat a bully is to hit back. AND HIT BACK HARD!
Dreier and his pals are just simply NOT USED TO being stood up to. And they just can't handle it! They're out of the habit of trying, with reason and facts and some strange, mysterious phenomenon called TRUTH - and most likely it's because they just do NOT have reason, facts and truth on their side. Since that's been the case for quite a few years now, they've adopted other tactics to get their way. Bullying was best, and when 9/11 came along, they used and exploited it as thought it were a pair of spike-bottomed jack boots that they could now put on for the purposes of stomping opponents to death. Further, when they were told repeatedly that God was on bush's side, or bush was appointed by God or anointed by God, then - hey, what's to argue about - AT ALL. This allowed them, even further, to fall back to the old "because I SAID SO!" argument.

And our lovely, brave, bold, valiant Dems simply caved - bent over, showed their behinds and said "THANK YOU, SIR! May I HAVE ANOTHER?"

So another reason why Dreier and his ilk are completely thrown for a loop is that Michael Moore refuses to fit into their template - the one they've used and by which they've been well-been trained. He's outside their box. They can't figure out what to do with him. And when they tried to fight fire with fire, issueing some pathetic, lame movie that was pro-bush and pro-republi-CON - what was it called? "God Bless America" or some ridiculous thing? Anybody hear of THAT movie making more than 100 mill? What happened to THAT movie? Lines around the block for THAT movie? SRO crowds for THAT movie?

They just can't deal with this, because Michael Moore didn't get their memo - and probably would have shoved it down their throats if he had. He's not following the plan and the instructions, so they're at a loss. The puzzle pieces aren't fitting together so easily and conveniently for them anymore. In fact, people like Michael Moore, and Howard Dean and Howard Stern and other in-yer-face types have gone and CHANGED THE PUZZLE. The pieces of their old puzzle that they still want to play with just don't work in this one anymore, and HEY, GUYS, THIS is the puzzle WE are all playing with now. THIS is the new game board. THESE are the new rules.

They start their shit - we SHOVE IT (as Teresa would say) back in their faces and down their throats. And we tell them (as our esteemed VICE pResident would say - to go cheney themselves.

Michael Moore REFUSES to play their game. We should do likewise. ALL of us. They need to be taught that their shit isn't gonna work ANY MORE. And that the jig is up. Their time is up. Their glory days are history. THEY ARE SO OVER!!!!

So YES. ABSOLUTELY we owe him a huge debt.

So how do we repay that debt?

By FOLLOWING MICHAEL MOORE'S LEAD, AND DOING WHAT HE'S DOING. SHOVING IT BACK IN THEIR FACES. HITTING BACK - HARD.

15. We owe Moore big-time. He has the strongest anti-Shrub mojo.
IMHO, the sands of press popularity began shifting beneath aWol's feet last January, when Moore said he wanted to see a debate between Wesley Clark and Shrub, The General vs. The Deserter. Peter Jennings attacked, and Moore and Clark held their ground. aWol's image has eroded ever since.

And I think there is still more woe to come to bushco from Shrub's dismal military record and its cover-up. Bring it on. And thanks, Michael Moore.

4. Dreir got his lunch handed to him by everyone there
He tried the same old tired bullshit that Hannity, Tweety, CNN etc. never question. He started spouting RW talking points and Maher went after him like a good knowledgable and fair host should. Didn't let the bullshit stand.

Maher also called Moore on some stuff, as did the former PM of Canada, and they were right too. Not everything Moore says is gospel. His attack the building analogy was not correct, although I agree with his point.

The Flip-Flop trap Moore set for Dreir was a thing of Beauty!

That was the best show I've seen in a long time. Welcome back Bill Maher!

(p.s. I don't always agree with BM, and his love for Coulter is disgusting...)

7. Drier Is A Horrible Liar...He Deserves To Be Chastened...
Every one laughed when he talked about how Bush had done so much for Science. What planet is he on. He also shilled for Ahnold...He is very disingenuous....

Moore destroyed him with one line "Have you seen the movie?"

Drier had ALL of it coming! The entire GOP has that coming! You could tell he was pissed ass hell by how RED his cheeks were. When Maher started in about Gay marriage, I thought, Uh OH, Drier is gay, I wonder if Maher KNOWS THAT? OR is he playing dumb to make Drier uncomfortable? NOTICE...Drier didn't make ANY comment on the Gay Marriage issue? Hmmmmm. Interesting. I laughed my ass off when Drier was GONE after "New Rules." Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! That felt SO good to skewer a repuke! He had his ass handed to him on a platter. Yay! He was rendered speechless a few times too......LOVED IT! Michael Moore is my HERO!
