Study: Fear shapes voters' views

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- President George W. Bush may be tapping into solid human psychology when he invokes the September 11 attacks while campaigning for the next election, U.S. researchers said on Thursday.

Talking about death can raise people's need for psychological security, the researchers report in studies to be published in the December issue of the journal Psychological Science and the September issue of the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.

The Republicans are masters of spreading fear into the minds of Americans. It makes me sick.

1. I'm full of fear
OF George Bush.

George has made me very afraid and that is one of the many reasons I don't want to have to see his chimpy face for 4 more years.

3. but people will respond even MORE to optimism, and that is
what made the Democratic Convention such a brilliant winner. The Repubs I met at the Bush rally NEED To be optimistic. They absolutely compulsively HAVE to be optimistic and positive, and that is why they don't read, don't educate themselves, and yet blindly vote. Kerry/Edwards are right on track with being optimistic. That
is what will win in November. Optimism, and hope. Keep Hope Alive!

4. Winston Churchill understood that
and rallied the west by expressing hope and defiance.

Kerry can and will do the same.

The Republican Party and its supporters are counting on people to cower in fear...that's why they are attacking as much as they are.

Remember the old saying "An empty vessel makes the most sound"?
