The Cause of all this shit is Newt. It was he that made America weak
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 01:25 PM by opihimoimoi
He was the one to be President. Speaker of the House, he was being groomed for the Presidency. All he had to do was play by the rules. He started GoPac and had many followers as a esult. He pulled off a Coup in 94 with the help of Rush Limpballs, and others. He had it all in the bag. But no, something happened on the way to the well.

By being arrogant, obstinate, outspoken, he fucked himself in 96 by attacking Big Dog with the BJ thing....dragged it out for all to see months after it had subsided. He overlooked one basic thig...

Pubs like BJs too.

Thus Clinton was re elected and everyone blamed Newt.

Fast forward to 2000.

No Newt...who ya gonna git? Gary Bauer? McCain? Bush? Well McCain is too smart for the Pub Masters...too much class, cannot be controlled, too much common sense and principles.

Bush was perfect...and now ya know the REST of the SAGA/Story/BullShit/

Come, we go :puke:

3. The Pubs reniged on the Contract big time...it was one of the main factors
leading to his political demise.

Newt blew it through his own Mouth and misadventures.....like divorcing his wife while she was sick with cancer...some family values there.

The Blow hard is a nerd gone wild....he had it all but blew it...but I feel he woulda been better than the Shrub we got now.

7. Newt was the one
who made it GOP policy to place power above the national interest. He's gone but the philosophy remains. The GOP is controlled by extremists who are a threat to the well-being of the nation...

9. Exactly...he was one of the root causes of our mess. But even he
is far better than the damage Bush is causing...

In a sense, Bush is doing us Dems a big favor by being what he is..a dufus. Is this the Best the Pubs can offer? If it is... they are fucked...and now they know it all too well.

13. "bushwa doing us a favor"
Careful, there, opi...... that kinda talk gets people here running for the tar and feathers. :)

I've said this many times, also........ to people around me here, of course, and not on DU. Even on a message board, I don't care to be blistered. :)

Yes, he's doing us a favor by showing CLEARLY just how rotten their whole belief system is, and what their goal *actually* is. The smarter ones are now seeing it, and the rest...... well, I don't hold out much hope. So, as bad as it is, the longer it goes on, the more people will learn, understand, and finally develop an immunity against. Just the language itself -- people are starting to see through it.

Yes, he's doing us a favor. Like one woman said to me, "If you put a frog in boiling water, it will jump out and save itself. If you put that frog into lukewarm water, and gradually turn up the heat, it'll boil to death." We're actually in much more danger from a regime that gradually gets worse, than we are from one that gets bad quickly. *THAT'S* why you hear many people very uncomfortable with the right-wing of the DEM party. Moving us to the right slowly will get us to the same place, but it will be a lot less noticeable. Hence, we'll boil to death.

But, of course, nobody really wants to hear that. :hi:

17. Newt isn't gone.
He works or worked on the Defense Policy Board with James Woolsey and Richard Perle (who quit Mar. 2003). It's a 30 member civilian policy board appointed by Douglas Feith.

8. What I can't figure out
is why is McCain shilling for the chimp? After the crap they unloaded on him in '00 he should be hopping mad. Is he trying to stay in the good graces of the party so that he'll be given a legitimate shot in '08?

10. Pubs demand loyalty... and I suppose its the loyalty thing keeping
him in the loop for whatever reason....Perhaps a contingency thing...in case something happens to Bush/Cheney.... one has to wonder. HMMMMMMmmmmmm

11. Good question...
but I suppose it's a combination of party loyalty and some very severe threats about what might happen to him in his next Sentorial election.

I bet the impression his message is "Vote for Bush" (but Kerry is my good buddy, wink, wink)

12. I suspect many people will vote for Kerry while posing as Bush supporters
They just can't be seen as voting Kerry but deep down...they know Bush is a loser... thus the paradox facing them...what to do, what to do.

18. Tough to tell...
what they might do. Politics is so much like religion in that old habits and beliefs die hard.

Perhaps they will vote for Kerry, perhaps they will leave the line blank, perhaps they will just go on instinct and habit and vote for Bush.

Voting is not always as rational as we would like to think it is. Even on our side.

16. Yup, its the ole "divide and conquer thingy"....a little gay marriage
opponents here and a little pro life votes there , etc, and soon they have a pile of chips in their corner...

They are very clever in their divisiveness....

The Misled Sheep, They have not a clue they are being used and abused by their Pub Masters and many continue to cling to the Pub Party Line....only to look very foolish when the facts finally come out...
