In this World, no one wants to be a LOSER... the question is what States
will continue to vote Bush/cheney....knowing full well the TIDE has turned....Knowing that if your State is Red and the House/Senate/Presidency is Blue... your State gits less cookies from the Congress/White House.

So, what States will risk being on the losing side....?

Even Texas has its share of smart voters....will they be enough to effect the switch? In this case, the fight is lost, better to switch, and do it soon....Smart voting must overcome ideological voting...its as simple as that...

The Poor South; wanna dance but only got the WallFlower Bush left in the wings..... whatcha gonna do?

3. All the smart voters in Texas have been redistricted
Texas will be red unfortunately. Too many cronies have too much as stake for the state to turn blue. Delay illegally funded the redistricting bullshit and because of his greed (and the greed of many others in this state) my vote is worthless. I'll still vote for Kerry, but it's hard to get excited when I know there's no way I'll be fairly represented anytime soon.

*sigh*

4. As a Montanan, I've had to be an optimist.
The numbers from 2000 represent a significant hurdle here:

Bush 240,178 58.44%
Gore 137,126 33.36%
Nader 24,437 5.95%

but I think if we get most of the Nader voters, a good slice of the Bush voters, and get a lot of new voters to the polls (which is the big unreported story of this election) we can do it.

9. Plus
I think Schweitzer has a lot of Dems excited, and that may translate to a slight bounce for Kerry.

What the 2000 numbers don't show though is that in 1996 it was a really close race: 44 Dole 41 Clinton and 13 Perot; and in 1992, we actually won: 37 Clinton 35 Bush 26 Perot.

2000 was a strange year, and I expect the 2004 numbers to be closer to the 1992 and 1996 totals. I live in a pretty liberal town (Bozeman) but crap, I don't know A SINGLE PERSON who likes George W Bush. Even the Republicans I know, think he's a slimey liar....

Montana will be closer than a lot of people think, and it'll surprise the hell out of some people.

5. Definatly Texas...
definatly Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. More than likely (60% chance)Alabama, Mississippi, Indiana, Kentucky. Everything else that isn't "blue" I think right now is a 50/50 shot.

11. Don't put Montana in that group
Montana, IMHO is just as likely to be going blue as Colorado is. Utah Wyoming and Idaho.... well if Bush was caught fucking a goat with 11 year old Thai boy prostitutes, they will still probably go red, but Montana is more liberal than a lot of people think, and the Dems will likely have a governor pickup, and will probably pick up the state house of representatives and get a closer state senate.

Who knows, Tracy Velazquez might actually eek out a victory against her slimeball opponent and win our AL house seat for the dems :-)

17. Alaska
Has only supported one Democratic presidential candidate since statehood in 1959. That was LBJ in 1964. I guess miracles can occur, but I'm not holding my breath :(
