Carnegie Endowment group....list of Bush lies about Iraq.
There are a lot of new folks coming to DU now, and I see that some are skeptical that most here opposed the war vehemently last year and in 2002. This is a time in history that played out so openly on the internet, yet so differently in the mainstream media.

It was a painful time to see the news anchors just spout the disinformation so glibly. It was painful to talk to the offices of our congressmen only to hear the same words spewed out again. I felt so hopeless, and so did my husband and our friends here. We almost completely quit watching the news, because the internet and DU and Bartcop and other sites had the truth everyday.

There are two times in recent history that I can not and will not forget. When the steamroller hit Florida, and when the person in the Whitehouse lied us to war.

This page is quite thorough and long, but it is fascinating.

The Bush Administration on Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction Capabilities
August 2002-November 2003

Prepared by Christina Andersson

We have compiled statements from the Bush Administration primarily on Iraq's previous and current ability to manufacture and hide chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons as well as delivery systems. We have also included statements on the relationship between intelligence and post-war evidence of such capabilities. Statements in bold are our emphases."

2. If that's the case
I'm glad I haven't been spending much time at DU lately:

There are a lot of new folks coming to DU now, and I see that some are skeptical that most here opposed the war vehemently last year and in 2002.

It wasn't just "most" who opposed the war from well before the IWR on, it was something like 99% of DUers were well-informed enough to oppose this needless, senseless, immoral, unjustified and unjustifiable war of aggression.

I was at DU all the time in those dark, hopelss, desperate days. I only remember 2 or 3 people tops who voiced even the slightest pro-war sentiment.

I guess they also don't know about all the anti-war protests that took place, huh? There were hundreds, of all sizes from a few to hundreds of thousands of people participating. Unprecedented to have anti-war protests before a war starts. Of course, the mainstream media chose to ignore them, or seriously underreport the numbers participating if they bothered to mention any of the protests at all.
